Orinda, CA is a small city in the Central Valley of California, about an hour east of Sacramento. It was founded in 1887 by Ezra Taft Benson as a cotton and lumber town, but quickly became known for its wine production and gun safes. These new products were not being well received by customers because they were not able to keep up with advances in technology seen elsewhere on the market such as those seen with Glock's handgun product line. The name comes from an Indian word meaning "bordered by trees." Orinda was established in 1868 as a post office on the Rancho Oroville (now Orinda) ranch by U.S. Army Captain George W. Dixon and his wife Lillie Woodward Dixon. The post office continued to be called Orinda until it changed its name to Stanislaus City in 1907 because of its proximity to San Francisco Bay. The community experienced a rapid growth following World War II when thousands of American soldiers arrived here for displaced persons camps set up throughout California after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 6th, 1941. Many of these soldiers were discharged from the military before they could find housing or job opportunities so they moved into the new developments that sprang up around them – most notably Sam’s Club and Apple Incorporated stores near Highway 101 north of town center – creating what may have been one of America’s first “mobile cities” as people spread out across central California looking for work or homes during wartime times when few options existed other than shantytowns found along theumen coastline like Seal Beach or Newcastle[1]. In 1948, Orinda voters passed an ordinance establishing public schools within city limits with all students attending school regardless of family income levels.[2] Today many residents still live close to their homes making education a top priority for both children and parents alike; however, with budgets tight across all government entities local educators must make do with limited resources while also trying to keep up with changing needs such as rising enrollment rates among Chinese Americans living nearby[3]. The town was named for Orinda, a small station on the Central Pacific Railroad. In 1909, Orinda became an incorporated municipality with a population of about 452. The town experienced significant growth during the late twentieth century, thanks to its location as a bedroom community for Silicon Valley. However, recent declines in the economy have led to declining population and budget values; as of 2010, Orinda had only about 100 residents. Orinda's history dates back to 1847 when Emigrant George Rogers Clark and his wife Marilla WarnerClark settled at Rancho Palos Verdes east of Livermore on Coyote Creek (now part of Interstate 280). They named their new settlement "Orinda" after another small station on the Central Pacific Railroad that they had passed through on their way eastward from San Francisco Bay. In 1850 the railroad built a second line south from this main line between Orinda and Red Bluff through Coyote Canyon country (now part of Livermore), making it possible for farmers in central San Mateo County to sell goods directly to consumers at lower prices than they could receive through vendors or carriers who transported goods overland from distant points within the county. This development helped stimulate local economic activity and create numerous jobs for people in Orinda and throughout central San Mateo County. By 1909, Orindanians were numbering around 455 according to censuses taken that year-a decrease from 711 counted in 1890 but an increase from 396 enumerated in 1880 due largely to increased immigration into the area by Asian Americans fleeing Ulysses S Grant's American Civil War victory over Mexico. However, during World War II many young men enlisted or were drafted into military service outside of Orindania; as such, census data reported no changes until 1951 when there began systematic collection of such information following incorporation into san mateo county precincts system pursuant to state mandate No.(1) As with other parts of southern California throughout much of this period,[2] births outnumbered deaths among those living within urban areas like Oakland and Berkeley while rural areas continuedto experience high levels cf population growth especially due primarily to waves of Mexican refugees entering during the early 20th century seeking work opportunities available across America’s Great Western Empire[3].
