On November 12th 1860 a fire destroyed most of downtown Anaheim but did not damage any churches or other buildings within the city limits; this event was later chronicled as “the Great Fire of Anaheim” In 1917, two brothers named Royce (Roy) Fuller and Bob Fuller founded Orangemen FC which played its inaugural game against Los Angeles Galaxy on October 25th at Memorial Stadium in Santa Ana Hills On February 9th 1922 SS Normandie collided with a tanker near Dana Point killing eleven people and injuring more than seventy On July 10th 1954 Bodegas Corona sales tax law passed becoming effective starting January 1st 1955 In 1957 Blue Diamond Brewing Company organized a homebrewing club called “The Dudes” which grew into one of the largest homebrewing clubs in Southern California In 1959 Disneyland opened its gates following five years of construction costing $2 million dollars As Disneyland progressed so too did allegations that it had been built for money laundering purposes
