This led to an increase in immigration to this area and by 1853, there were over 100 people living in Orange Cove. It was during this time that several businesses were established including a post office, a mill, and a restaurant. In 1907, construction began on what would become Cal State University at Orange Cove. This helped spur development in this area and by 1915, there were over 400 students living here. Today, orange cove is home to some of CSU’s most famous buildings such as the Library Towers and Tennis Courts. Additionally, it has been home to numerous athletic events likethe Pac-12 Championships and NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball tournaments.

One theory suggests that human beings lived along or near present day Orange Cove for hundreds of thousands of years before finally settling here about 9000 BCE due to climate changes brought on by periodic El Niño events which included strong surges in sea levels thanks to plate tectonics activity at fault lines throughout the world at that time. Some historians believe that early inhabitants may have hunted game such as bear and deer within walking distance of their dwellings while others speculate they may have gathered oranges (or other fruit) from trees closeby for sustenance because no wild plants were available nearer water’s edge at the time.[1] After thousands of years living here with these various activities taking place everyday without any contact with outsiders until white traders—possibly Spanish explorers—arrived in Alta California in 1769 did some permanent damage by introducing diseases which quickly spread panic among natives; forcing many coastal residents into inland villages like Seal Beach where they continued fishing unassisted through open ocean waters until shipwrecks led them ashore again about 1800 CE;[2] most likely introduced Christianity also based upon sightings or reports from missions sent out by governor Manuel Nieto between 1700–1775 CE (under Father Junípero Serra).[3][4][5] Thereafter sporadic English arrivals followed until more recent times when Mexican immigrants arrived after US citizens revoked citizenship rights back in 1924 CE (− making California statehood official). Missionaries established themselves especially near Seal Beach where land grants were given out seasonally; thus much property still remains undeveloped today including what is now known as present day Orange Cove although development has occurred since then primarily along Interstate 5 highway corridor stretching all around southern endpoints between Newport Beach and Laguna Niguel through Anaheim Hills toward San Bernardino County line
