In 1923, water lines were installed for much of southern Orange County including Ocean View Heights (later known as Newport Beach), ending up in what is now downtown Oceanside after being diverted from Mission Bayou near where Interstate 5 crosses over it just east of Spring Valley Road NW.owned businesses such as banks and dry goods stores opened up along Commercial Avenue soon after while people called the area "the Ghetto." There were also rumors that organized crime elements had taken over portions of coastal Southern California due to this route's strategic location - close enough to both Los Angeles and San Francisco but far enough away from any major population centers that they could not easily racketeer or otherwise manipulate events thereabouts... In early 1951 local real estate agent Irving Weisman found an old military base property adjacent to Point Loma Boulevard which he believed could be developed into a resort casino; later renamed Marina Del Rey weiser Developments Inc., it became one of the largest single financial investments ever made outside coasts United States until its closure in 1987 following bankruptcy proceedings.. shortly thereafter development continued along inland streets bordering Point Lobos Creek before finally reaching views looking out onto Clearwater Harbor beyond Offerbeach Municipal Airport across Highway State Road 154 about midway through business day Friday Jan 14th 1959 .... large commercial buildings began popping up throughout downtown beginning with A&P Stores followed by Safeway store then Kaiser HealthCare Clinic
Gun sights are a type of sighting device used in firearms to allow the user to aim the weapon using aiming stars or other markings on a target. The earliest known sighting devices were called "pin-points" and were made from a small piece of metal or wood plated with iron, brass, or bronze. It was difficult for an unaccustomed shooter to use and required practice to be effective. The development of modern rifle sights began with the addition of turrets in 18th century muzzle loading rifles. A turret is a movable part that can be rotated so that it points in any direction along the bore axis, allowing different parts of the barrel to be aligned with each other for accurate shooting. The first true rifle sights were created by Nicholas-Jacques Conte in 1795 and they consisted of two circles placed one above the other on a dovetail mount. These devices allowed shooters to align their shots more easily than ever before and made rifles much faster and more accurate. The adoption of rifle sights also led to the development of handguns, which required less skilled shooters to take advantage of these new weapons. Pistolners could now fire accurately at long distances without having Toole’s Error (a phenomenon caused by Errors due to differences between projectile velocities) ruining their accuracy. In fact, many pistoliers preferred sniper rifles over pistols because they could reliably hit targets at long ranges without fear of hitting their friend or family member who was standing behind them!
The first firearms sighting devices were probably invented by the Chinese in the 3rd century BC. The earliest known example is a stele or stone votive image dating to the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). It shows a man with a bow and arrow in front of him, looking to his right at what appears to be an animal carcass lying on the ground.

In 1875, the first railroad was built in Oceanside. The California and Oregon Railroad was built along the coast, connecting San Francisco with Portland. In 1879, a branch line was built to connect Oceanside with San Diego. The name of the town changed from Ocean Beach to Oceanside in 1907.
