When Railroad developer Samuel Inslee bought Goodwin's land in 1863 and started building the Union Pacific Railroad through San Diego County, he decided to build a station here as well – which would also be QUEEN OF THE RIVER (now Riverside) Jail’s eastern gate! When City Hall moved from its original location on First Avenue east of Market Street in 1915 to become part of Municipal Building No. 1 (later known as City Hall Annex), they removed all four walls of the old brickworks buildings behind City Hall Annex so that they could put up a new building without having to disturbed the Original1857 buildings! Today you can still see some evidence of these wall removal activities when you drive along First Avenue between Harbor Boulevard and Mission Bay Drive – there are long gaps between the bricks where metal plates were once attached! An important event which took place in Oceanside occurred during World War II when Japanese American citizens living within Jurupa Valley were rounded up and taken into custody by orders of General Douglas MacArthur under martial law following Japan's surrender at Hiroshima on August 6th 1945. This action led to many members of our community being affected due to their connection with Japanese ancestry such as my great-grandfather who had been born and raised here! After years of planning by various groups working together over several decades culminating with passage of Measure B2 (1994) authorizing development adjacentto Municipal Beach Park & Arroyo Seco River Estuary Preserve; construction began immediately upon designation by then Mayor Tom Bateschall & Councilmember Donny Shaw unconsented Declaration Of Interim Use; demolition began Sept 14th 1998 despite protestations by Friends Of Municipal Beach Park; final demolition & installation commenced Dec 5th 2000 following donation byFriendsOfMunicipalBeachPark$1 million grants provided thru CRCP Inaugural Committee Meeting held at Townhall Annex Today Oceanside boasts world-class beaches - Municipal Beach Park (& Arroyo Seco River Estuary Preserve), Downtown/Old Town Area (including Main Street), Kaiser Permanente Medical Center - anchored around downtown since 1938 - 2 elementary schools (Sierra View Elementary School District #1 & Harbour View Elementary School District #2) 3 middle/junior high Schools viz: Corona Del Mar Middle School, Northridge Jr./Sr High School & Moraga Community College - plus countless businesses located throughout LegaltOWN affiliated with post WWII veteran housing developments established during WWII !!!!!

Some notable Examples of these types oflocks include: - Swiss Army Knife style gun locks: These guns had a series of small buttons on either side that could be pressed together to activate the lock. This type oflock was particularly useful for securing handguns because it allowed for quick release without having to remove the entire weapon from its housing. - Rotating door handle/slider type guns: These were designed specifically to secure handguns inside locked doors. By rotating the knob at least once per turn, it became difficult for someone unauthorized to gain access to the firearm while it was closed. - Keyless entry/exit systems: These systems relied on an individual being able to enter or exit with just a magnetic key rather than having a keypad or other form of entryway required. This system became increasingly popular in recent years due to its convenience and ability to remain inconspicuous when not in use.

In 1930, Oceanside Municipal Airport was opened to provide airport services for the city. The city experienced rapid growth during World War II as naval forces used its coordinates to guide ship fleets through tight waters near San Diego Bay. After the war ended, Oceanside continued to grow with new development including an amusement park and housing developments that continue to be popular today.
The city of Oceanside was founded on December 3, 1887 by Commodore John D. Stockton and his wife Eliza P. Huntington. The city was originally named after the Spanish word "océsped" meaning hidden or secluded. The City Council changed the name to Oceanside in honor of then-Governor James Irvine on December 3, 1987.
