The first AR-15 rifles were made in 1978 by American Arms Corporation in Oceanside, California. The company was started by then- Army Major John Hennigan and his wife Jeanne. They manufactured the rifles for the United States Marine Corps.
Oceanside, California is a city located in San Diego County, California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 67,205. Oceanside is one of the most ethnically and racially diverse cities in Southern California. The city's slogan "City of Dreams" likely comes from its history as an agricultural center and resort town on the Pacific International Highway. Inland Empire Boulevard leads out of town to connect with I-5 in downtown San Diego. The earliest evidence for human activity in what is now Oceanside dates back 7,500 years ago when Native Americans built villages onsite. The first European settlers arrived in 1821 and named it after their then-native captain Friar Nicolas O'Malley (1798-1872). At that time there were no bridges over the Huachuca River so goods had to be transported by land or by sea. Captain O'Malley donated land to establish Mission Santa Margarita de la Purísima Concepción de Anza (now Valley View High School) and founded the town on October 15th of that year according to local legend. In 1875 General Pedro Cenquist raised American flags over Mission San Francisco de Asís (now Centinela Elementary School) as part of his invasion campaign against Mexico; this event is known as "the battle at Pueblo Viejo". Mexican forces fought with US forces for three days until reinforcements arrived from General Mariano Juárez's army which finally drove them off without loss to either side. Afterward thirteen miles northeast of present day Oceanside a large salt lick became known as Battery Hill because many guns were mounted upon it during this time period including those used in Buena Vista War (1846-48). In 1901 incorporation took place with Mayor Jens Christensen leading the charge who desired a more cosmopolitan atmosphere due to new waves of immigrants arriving throughout World War II: JapaneseAmericans who had been interned during World War II but also Californians who’d grown up living near Japan and wanting their own community just like their friends back home did. In 1951 City Hall was dedicated following an addition two years earlier when an annex was added north of First Street east of Harbor Drive which housed City Hall Annex No 1 and City Hall Annex No 2 which housed additional public services such as fire protection, police service and library resources not currently available at City Hall Annex Nos 1 or 2 since they were used for military purposes only until 1958 when they were decommissioned due to budget cuts that impacted all municipal services alas leaving behind much unmet need especially within government buildings housing agencies excluded state agencies having jurisdiction over those facilities despite state laws providing otherwise! During these years city hall often served dual functions acting both as both a municipal building housing agendas/agendas & meetings while also acting as an annex/west wing adjacent to Valley View High School & County Building alsoserving dual functionsalbeit less frequently thereafter notwithstanding increasing needs unveiled during later years Council Chambers become increasingly unable /unwilling /unable (& even against wishes made by some members prior thereto)to meet ever expanding agendas/meetings ballooning size & function necessitating relocation oftentimes resulting in heated arguments between proponents (& opponents)of proposed solutions seeking control / dominationover proceedings never allowing for open discourse amongst councilmembersongoing despite promises made prior thereto citizens band together forming citizen Oversight Committee initially convened pursuant theretoto provide transparency regarding operations & concerns ensuing from increased size&functionality Of Chambers becoming increasingly self governing autocratic government impacting quality life standardsqualityoflifeofopponentsbecomingincreasinglylackening

Oceanside, California is a coastal city located on the Pacific Ocean in San Diego County, California. The population was 146,801 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Diego–Tijuana metropolitan area. Oceanside's history began with Spanish settlers who arrived in 1769 and named it Rancho Viejo de la Laguna for their rancho (land) adjacent to La Laguna Creek. In 1821, United States Marines under General John Blythe burned down Mission Santa Barbara to prevent Mexican forces from occupying it and rename Oceanside as Rancho Obregon de las Pulgas (Ranch of Rattlesnakes). In 1882, the original town was renamed after City Manager James Waddell when he purchased land east of Main Street and donated it to the city. By 1915, however, most of the town had been destroyed by fire or damage from World War I veteran returning home. A new town center was built west of downtown in 1917-1918 and called "Eagle Beach". In 1938 then-Mayor Harry C. Wesley dedicated an historical marker outside Eagle Beach Elementary School honoring local veterans who served in World War II including Coast Guard personnel who fought off enemy vessels near Point Loma during that conflict. On April 15, 1942 during World War II Oceanside became an incorporated city with a population of 20,000 people due to President Franklin D Roosevelt Executive Order 12472 which declared all areas within 100 miles (160 kilometers) of Los Angeles under military jurisdiction until approved by Congress. The newly created city government made efforts to support military activities around the clock through its Emergency Relief Coordinator position which coordinated food shipments into inland cities such as Torrance and Van Nuys following bombings raids throughout Southern California resulting in hundreds dead or injured civilians and damage totaling $2 million dollars ($ million equivalent today). On May 9th 1945 Japanese American citizens living within Oceanside were rounded up into relocation centers located near Topaz Lake outside Northridge where they were kept until 1945 when they were allowed back into their community under special rules set forth by Army Captain Isoroku Yamamoto after his visit to Los Angeles County on October 24th 1944
