Oakley is a small city in the central region of California, on the east side of San Bernardino County. The population was 27,815 at the 2010 census. Oakley is home to two universities: San Bernardino State University and Cal Poly Pomona. It also has a number of factories that produce firearms and ammunition. The first handguns were made in Oakley by American Arms Corporation in 1922. The company went out of business in 1923, but some guns still exist today as collector’s items or for antique purposes. In 1924, Browning Manufacturing Company started making pistols here as well, which continues to this day. The company produced handguns until 1970 when it merged with Sig Sauer AG to form SAUER LLC. In 1932, Smith & Wesson founded their own handgun factory here under the name “ Smith & Wesson Firearms Incorporated” which continued until 1984 when it merged with Ballistics Research Associates (BRA). This factory produces revolvers and pistols as well as bulletproof vests and armor piercing rounds for law enforcement use. It also manufactures shotguns and rifles under different names such as Winchester Repeating Arms Company, Colt Defense Firearms Manufacturing Company and Savage Arms Corporation among others over the years.

Oakleys Valley Campus also houses Orange Coast Community College which provides vocational training for workers in various industries such as manufacturing, construction and food service; Davis–Monthan Community Colleges which offers associate degrees in arts & sciences; Western Hills University which offers certificates & diplomas in Business Administration & Management; and Saugus School District #565 which offers Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade education including world religions courses along with science classes like Earth Science and Chemistry that are crucial for future students!

Oakley, California is a small town in Kern County, California. The population was 1,784 at the 2010 census. It is located in the east San Gabriel Valley and west of downtown Los Angeles. Oakley is known for its orchards, vineyards, and apples. The first permanent settler in what is now Oakley was Samuel Chase who established a ranch in 1887. In 1902, General George Sutter founded the First National Bank of Los Angeles here. In 1911, the Oakleys moved from their original home near what is now North Hollywood to their present location on Pico Boulevard within blocks of Hollywood Boulevard. A post office was established at Oakley in 1914 and continued operation until it was closed by the Postal Service on July 8th 1960. The last resident to live there died on October 9th 1970. While most of what we know about earlyOakleys comes from oral history and community remembrances passed down through family members- there are also records that exist that document our town’s beginnings including deeds and land records dating back to 1887-1892 when Samuel Chase purchased 2 acres of land south of today’s Pico Blvd., bounded by Mount Washington Rd., Springdale Ave., Bundy Dr., and Mulholland Dr.. These holdings would later become part of what would be known as Rancho San Rafael which encompassed much of eastern Kern County between Pasadena and Vineyard Hills before becoming annexed into Santa Monica City Limits in 1926 This period can also be found represented with some interestingName Changes such as Rancho El Toro which became Westchester County Agricultural District #5 (1926), Rancho Nayarit which became Orange County Agricultural District #2 (1926), etc.). One notable early resident/owner/operator who lived here during this time Period was Adolph Ames who operated an apple orchard adjacent to his ranch from 1886 until 1912 He left his property here for future development into one of Southern California’s leading apple orchards up until his death in 1962 . Another early occupant/owner/operator who resided here during this time Period was Charles Fenton who ranched along Springdale Ave./Bundy Dr./Mulholland Dr.. From 1915 until 1916 he leased 4 acres near today’s Crenshaw Blvd./Parker Dr & sold produce to local residents & businesses thru a cooperative arrangement called “Fenton Orchard Marketing Company”
