Oakley, California is a small town in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley region of Northern California. It is located about 25 miles east of Sacramento on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and it is one of the most rural areas in the state. The population was 5,592 as of 2010. Oakley is named after an early settler, John C. Oakley, who arrived there in 1868. The first store was established in 1869 by John Drevitch and his brother Amos Drevitch. A post office was established at Oakley in 1870, and the town began to grow rapidly from its modest beginnings. By 1886, when it had a population of 1,200 people (including 300 Indian women), Oakleys annexation by nearby Davis made it an incorporated city. In 1920, however, Davis withdrew its support for incorporation and Oakleys status as a city reverted to that of a small hamlet with a population of around 100 people. However, despite its humble beginnings as a small community developed into one of Northern California’s most prosperous towns over time due to its location close to major transportation hubs such as Sacramento and San Joaquin Valley cities; including large numbers of agricultural workers commuting into the city during the late 19th century; while also enjoying access to high quality education and health services available only away from larger metropolitan areas; including extensive medical care facilities resulting from generous contributions from local businesses which donated their land for use as hospitals throughout Southern California during this time period; largely due to Republican Party efforts within both state legislatures characterized by strong protectionist policies favoring agriculture over other sectors – particularly those seeking development near major urban centers – culminating with passage by then Governor Ronald Reagan in 1984 which created The City Limits Act classifying all suburban municipalities adjacent to Los Angeles County outside my jurisdiction within what are now termed “City Limits” limits making it much easier for bureaucrats at county level without any elected representatives having knowledge or oversight thereof – ultimately leading (and continuing) decades long steady decline & eventual extinction – until present day situation where little if any recognizable remnant remaining evidence remains contemporary Oaksville today stands tall among many other similar struggling towns across America founded during this era watchful waiting uncertain future
