In 1924, Oakley had its first movie theater when Regal Cinemas opened with 9 screens across three floors inside an old schoolhouse which served as the main auditorium until 1978 when it burned down; all evidence suggests that fire started deliberately within minutes of opening due to problems with wiring in this auditorium (the building's previous owners had failed to properly upgrade it). In 1962, Drs., Harvey Lasky and Willis Harlan developed "Lasky Drugs", which became one of America's most successful drugstores landmarks ever; they are credited with developing more than 90% of all over-thecounter medications sold throughout North America during their time together including many groundbreaking new products such as aspirin and ibuprofen before they both passed away in 1984 while still running Lasky Drugs Stores behind their Los Angeles home - until then considered to be an architectural landmark within walking distance thereof!
