Oakdale, California is a small town located in the middle of nowhere. It's not known for much else but its rich history and prolific shooting industry. The first documented shooting location in this town was an old mill on the banks of the Sacramento River. The first people to shoot at targets here were Native Americans who used the site as their traditional hunting grounds. The first firearms that could be fired from a seated position were pistols made by Improvements Company in 1848. Rifle production began in 1865 when John Mifflin started making rifles out of local lumber at his sawmill on Donner Creek. By 1871, all rifle production had stopped due to prohibitive costs and competition from mass-produced rifles brought about by victories in the Civil War and Mexican-American Wars. In 1907, Oakdale became one of the few places in California where handguns could be bought and owned by civilians. At this time, handguns were still consideredCategory 3 weapons under Federal law which prohibited them from being possessed or sold without a license from HMRC (HM Treasury). This law was changed in 1934 to make handguns Class 1 weapons which allowed them to be possessed by anyone over 21 years old with a valid license and registrationcard! In 1937, Glock began producing handguns here at their plant on Donner Creek Road. This company would later become widely known for their products including Beretta, Smith & Wesson and Ruger calibers. In 1978, Glock discontinued handgun manufacturing operations here after many years of success with their successful assault style pistols!

Oakdale is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 2,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salinas–Tulare Metropolitan Statistical Area. Oakdale is located on the southern edge of Tulare County and east of Visalia. Oakdale was founded by Mormons in 1859 as a rancho called Cedar Grove. The name may come from an oak tree that grew near the original site. The first post office in Oakdale was established in 1861, and it was renamed Cedar Grove after its founder's brother-in-law, James Fenton Haggin. In 1868, Mormon pioneers named their home "Mesa" after Mesa Verde National Monument in Arizona Territory. In 1887, John Gage Wagoner purchased all of Rancho Dominguez ceded to him by his father-in-law Doniphan Wagoner for $3 million (the amount then worth about $215 million today). Gage Wagoner had been born in Salt Lake City on December 12th 1824 and he had arrived in San Francisco Bay Area during the Gold Rush era to join his father as a miner when he was 21 years old on October 16th 1850. He had worked his way up through the various mining camps until reaching this point including being employed as a foreman at Sutter's Mill before purchasing Rancho Dominguez which included some 640 acres (252 hectares) of land where he built what became known as Garden Valley with its two large trees – the first reported liveoak tree planted north of San Francisco Bay! The following year saw development with construction starting on what would become one of California's most famous landmarks; Alameda Street running through Garden Valley from east to west! This street later became known as El Camino Real and now runs adjacent to Hayward Regional Airport! Garden Valley eventually came to include over 4 square miles (10 km²) comprising orchards, vineyards, lakes, ponds and other natural features making it one of the most diverse areas ever developed within Contra Costa County! Most importantly it also served as an incubator for many early agricultural settlements such as Benicia and Pleasanton which would continue developing into major metropolitan areas centuries later! Today these neighborhoods still reflect much of their early cultural influences giving us today’s unique flavor reminiscent of those early days when families lived close together while raising crops and hunt/fish outdoors!. In 1913 John Gage Wagoner sold additional acreage surrounding his original holdings becoming part of present day Salinas city limits just outside town limits!!! Today Oakdale is a rapidly growing town with new residents moving here largely because they love its beautiful surroundings including excellent schools system complete with both traditional high school students along side more recent innovative programs offered by nearby colleges like CSU Monterey Bay!
