Oakdale, California is a small town located in the Central Valley of California. The population was 1,912 at the 2010 census. The Oakdale post office opened on April 18, 1887, and closed on January 14, 1963. It is part of the Fresno metropolitan area. The community began as a farming village called Oakdale Station which was founded by Mormon settlers in 1869. The first school in the village was built in 1870 and served as a rural depot for stagecoaches between Sacramento and other nearby villages. In 1907, the town of Oakdale was incorporated and its first mayor was Wm Fenton. By 1930, there were only 6 families living in the town with a total population of just over 100. In 1959, after years of growth within the agricultural sector due to new irrigation systems built by farmers nearby, Mayor James Coggins persuaded city officials to build a new high school based on plans submitted by local architect Ira Laughlin. Construction began on September 15, 1960 and finished three months later on October 15th; it became known as "Oakdale High School". Over time, more schools have been added to the campus including an annex in 1978 (now known as "McAfee Middle School") after McAfee Elementary School closed down due to poor attendance rates; additional classrooms were added throughout until 2001 when all but one classroom building - which functions as an administrative office - were torn down to make way for a new fitness center and wrestling room that also doubled as home plate for baseball games played at Don Bosco Stadium during summertime; finally, in 2007-2008 all but one classroom building - which functions as an administrative office - were torn down to make way for expansion into adjacent fields that will house two soccer pitches/pitch sides used for practices by both sports teams; these expansions would serve dual purposes: housing future students who will be attending classes at Don Bosco Stadium while their homes are being remodeled while also providing more parking spaces for residents who must leave their cars parked inside their homes during school hours Accordingly, since becoming operational its own separate municipality called "Oakdale" has been created with its own government services including fire protection district (with arms), library system (including Internet capabilities),police department (with authority overresidential areas surrounding town limits)and numerous other services not found within municipal boundaries such as water supply or health care facilities either internal or external thereto

Oakdale is a small town in Kern County, California, located about 24 miles northeast of Bakersfield. The population was 2,948 at the 2010 census. Oakdale is part of the Kern Valley region. The first whites to arrive in what is now Oakdale were prospectors who found gold and silver near Snake River Canyon in 1858. By 1861, the town had been founded on Rancho San Jose de la Laguna by John Sutter and his brother-in-law David Teague. In 1867, James Irvine purchased Rancho San José de la Laguna from David Teague for $5,000; he renamed it Oakdale after one of his favorite spots in England - an oak tree that grew wild thereabouts. In 1871, developer Julius Rosenwald built a sawmill and agricultural center on what became known as Rancho Rinconada. He also acquired ranchos belonging to other settlers in the area - including Antonio Cisneros and Manuel Nieto - later giving them all their namesakes: Rinconada (Antonio), Sutter (David), Teague (John), Irvine (James), Rosenwald (Julius) and Parkes (Manuel). It wasn’t until 1917 that residents chose their current name when they voted to change it from Rinconada to Oakdale after then-Governor Earl Warren made it a part of the state of California. At its peak during World War II, Oakdale had a population of 3,500 people; however its growth stopped shortly afterwards because so many people left for war-time jobs or returned home once hostilities ended. Today only 350 people live in Oakdale – most of whom are active members of local churches or businesses such as restaurants and service stations. Although its downtown core has been lost over time due to demolition and development, much remains within easy reach by walking or biking: two grocery stores, three convenience stores/bakerys/grocery delivery services., several schools including Chico High School which offers world-renowned classes like welding and carpentry., four parks including Garden Grove Park located just east off I-5 next to Interstate 5 Exit 134A.), one movie theater with 1,,2D screensavers available for rental ($6 per day on average)and two retail strips carrying gasoline pumps., sixteen residential lots totaling 22 homes have been developed since 2002 adjacent to both I-5 exit 134A & I-580 westbound access & four business strip blocks have also been developed along I–580 between US 99W & US 199E providing shopping opportunities for drivers exiting Highway 99W.; new construction projects are planned for areas north o

P. French and named for a live oak tree which stood near the original trading post. The first post office opened in 1888, and the name changed to Oakdale in 1907. In 1923, it became an incorporated community with a population of 1002 citizens; its first school opened that year. In 1957, it became an unincorporated community again with a population of 350 residents; its last school closed that year.
