Oakdale is a small town in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley region of Northern California, United States. It was settled by Anglo-Saxon and Native American families in the 1840s. The first recorded gun use in Oakdale was with a muzzleloader belonging to Captain George Atherton of the Portola expedition on October 15, 1846. The town gained notoriety after an 1861 shooting rampage by six white men in which five were killed and three wounded. In 1865, it became the site of one of two bloody confrontations between Black Americans and white supremacists when three black men were killed by white vigilantes at a local barbershop. In 1976, Oakdale voters passed a ballot measure that established its own police department. The department's first officers were hired in 1978. The town has since seen several rounds of budget cuts and crime increases, but it remains one of the most peaceful communities in Kern County.

Oakdale is a city in Sacramento County, California, United States. Oakdale was incorporated on November 3, 1881. The population was 30,692 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade–Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. Oakdale's history began with Santiago de Padua Mission and its construction in 1769 by member of the Franciscan order Fray Junípero Serra. In 1871, John Copley opened the first store in town and soon thereafter started trading goods from his farmstead nearidy until it closed in 1903 after he sold out to Waddell Wells Fargo for $175,000. In 1905, local automaker William Remington moved his manufacturing operations to Oakdale from Arden and began producing Winchester rifles there starting as a small factory with only 10 employees. By 1925 Remington had developed into one of the largest arms manufacturers in America with facilities in over 60 locations across 16 states and Canada. The last production run of Winchester Model 22 rifle was done at this location on May 8th, 1927. In 1970 Remington merged with American Arms Company to become National Firearms Corporation (NFC). At that time NFC became a subsidiary of ATK Corporation which then went through several restructurings until it purchased National Firearms Corporation along with other gun companies including Browning Arms Inc., Colt corp., Savage Arms Corp., etc.. The company continued operations as ATK Firearms Corporation until 1997 when it was renamed American Tactical Industries Incorporated (ATI) effective October 1st. Today ATI continues manufacturing firearms under various brand names including: Barrett USA Inc., Bushmaster Armory LLC, Ruger & Co., Sig Sauer USA Incorporated, Hopkins Controls LLC and dozens more.
Oakdale is located in the San Joaquin Valley of California, and is a small town with a population of only around 1,000 people. The town was founded in 1868 by Mormons who came to the area from Utah. Oakdale has an interesting history that can be found nowhere else in the United States. One of the first things that Oakdale did when it arrived on the scene was to start a school. They built a schoolhouse and started teaching children. After a few years, they decided to move out of their original location and build themselves a better one. They started building their current building which currently houses their police station and post office. In 1898, they also built the first hospital in California. It was called the “Mormon Hospital” because it was run by Mormons for Mormon patients. It served as both an hospital and as a local clinic for residents ofOakdale and neighboring townships. In 1942, Oakdale became part of Fresno County (which at that time consisted of Fresno, Madera, Visalia, Mariposa, Siskiyou, Tooele and Yuba Counties). As part of this changeover process, many businesses withinOakdale were affected including our postal service which relocated from downtown to what is now known as Main Street. Our new postal mainstreetAddress remains unchanged today! Today's culture-rich community comes aboutthanks largely to two things: its two high schools; Chaffey Stake High School & Yuba Community College - both highly rated institutions - combined with its thriving commercial district anchored by three large grocery stores (Albertsonsanchartstore., Safewayand Kroger), four convenience stores (Grocery Outletcomercialdistrict), five bars/restaurants (TheatersclubAnd Steak House Distillery Bar & Grill), six medical offices/clinics/spa facilities (HospitalClinic&Medical Centerofthefuture) along with 12 student housing units administered through campus apartment complexes managed by Unified Housing Services(UHS).

Oakdale is a small town in Inyo County, California, United States. The population was 468 at the 2000 census. It is about 9 miles (14 km) east of Yosemite National Park and 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Mono Lake. Oakdale was founded by Mormons in 1872 as an agricultural community on the edge of Yosemite National Park. The town grew rapidly after the opening of the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1903, with its first post office established in 1904. By 1920, Oakdale had a population of 1,000 and was becoming known for its cattle industry. However, Oakdale's fortunes began to decline after World War II when highway construction cut off access to the park and then to other nearby towns. In the 1990s, however, Oakdale began to experience significant growth as a result of various development projects within Yosemite National Park - including new visitor centers and campgrounds; and more concerted efforts by park staff to promote tourism in addition to traditional economic activities. Today, Oakdale is one of several tourist destinations within Yosemite National Park - both developed areas that are popular with visitors and more remote communities that continue to grow in popularity due to their proximity to some of America's most renowned national parks
Oakdale is a small city in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 9,721 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Bakersfield–Ontario Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Oakdale post office was established on October 24, 1892. In 1907, it became an incorporated town under the name of East Oakdale. On December 13, 1912, it changed its name to Oakdale after nearby Oakdale Ranch which had been donated by local entrepreneur and namesake John A. Oakley. In 1960, the city annexed portions of unincorporated communities located north of Interstate 5 in southern Kern County and east of the railroad tracks that bisects the city limits. This annexation increased the size ofOakdale from 9 square miles to 44 square miles (120 km2 to 280 km2). The first school inOakdale was built on what is now Goodyear Avenue in 1902. In 1913, when East Oakdale changed its name to Oakdale to reflect its new location within Kern County proper and added a west side development called “North Oaks” adjacent to Donnergren Road/Upper Pines Road intersection near Coyote Hills Boulevard/Pine Valley Drive interchange; all three districts were annexed into existing City of Bakersfield on December 13th 1912 as part of a larger consolidation plan for Kern county by then Governor Earl Warren due to increasing population density and lack of space within Bakersfield itself for new towns or villages growth resulting from opening up lands westward along I-5 corridor with expansion plans for Imperial Valley following World War II Boom finally came true creating what we know today as Kern county – one large rural area with major cities located throughout each district served by respective Boroughs or Township governments
