Norwalk, California is a city located in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. The population was 38,847 at the 2010 census. The industry that dominated Norwalk during its early years was agriculture; however, this has changed over time as other industries such as manufacturing and software development have taken hold. One of the earliest businesses to open in Norwalk was The Gun Shop (now known as Three-Gun Gents). This store sold firearms to individuals and families in Norwalk. In 1907, C. A. Hupp selling firearms out of his home opened The Pistolero Store on Superior Street near what is now City Hall Park. Starting in 1912, Wm. Fenton started selling ammunition at his store on Neponset Avenue between First and Second Streets. One of the first handguns ever produced in Norwalk was an 1892 Colt Single Action Army rifle purchased from Fenton by local resident Jens Ludwig.[2] Other early businesses included: Mrs. Slinger’s Musical Gifts (1914), Mr. & Mrs. Kapp’s Hardware(1920), Griggs’ Candy Store(1924), Mr. & Mrs Müller’s News stand(1928), Reilly’s Radio Shack(1930) and D&D Gunsmithing Supplies Inc.(1934).[3] By 1935, there were six stores operating in Norwalk with a total sales volume of $1 million[4]! The post-World War II boom brought new life to the town with jobs being created in many sectors including aerospace engineering and computer programming; however, gun sales slumped after 1949 when gun control laws were tightened up nationally following the shootings at Littleton High School in Colorado Springs that year[5]. However, somestores reopened such as Schmidts Gun Emporium which reopened after it had been closed for several years due to fire damage caused by arsonists.[6] After several years without any major changes to the business climate, things began to change around 1975 when entrepreneur Tony Russo opened Russo's Gun Emporium which quickly became one ofNorwalk's most successful stores[7]. Soon after Russo's opening there were others vying for space including Russian Sportsman Arms Co., Ltd., founded by Russel Augustus Leonardovich Voitin who operated from a storefront on Third Street until his death in 1984,[8][9][10] before it moved into its current building adjacent to City Hall Park where it remains today

Norwalk is a town in Butte County, California, United States. The population was 20,063 at the 2010 census. Norwalk is part of the Fresno metropolitan area. It is located on the San Joaquin River, about 22 miles south-southeast of Fresno and about 12 miles east of Visalia. The first permanent European settlers arrived in 1847, when brothers George and Andrew Miller founded a mission called St. Mary's near modern-day Visalia. In 1858, the brothers sold their holdings to José Garza and Francisco Ramos for $1,000 cash plus 5 acres (2 ha) of land north of present-day Norwalk on which they built an agricultural rancho named Garza and Ramos. By 1860, there were 9 families living in what is now Norwalk; 1 family had moved from Illinois to start a homestead hereabouts in 1848. In 1872–73 Agrarian Land Commission surveyors traveled through this area looking for lands for settlers to purchase as ranches or scattered farming communities with irrigation systems were being developed along the San Joaquin River estuary throughout southern California; but no such locality was found suitable for settlement by Europeans as yet where they proposed to build a new town called Covina on land adjoining Covina Creek that lay within current day Tulare County east ofiris station. From his mountain home near modern-day Redding in Butte County George Higginson saw potential development overlooking his property just east of present day Norwalk on what would become known as “Higginson” Ranch – later renamed “Garza and Ramos” after him – lying immediately southwest across street from today’s city limits; so he offered his 200 acre (8 ha) tract including much valuable forested & terraced land originally patented under Lassen grandiosely named Painted Hills Domain comprising some 17 sq mi (40 km²), situated today within city limits bounded by State Route 98Eastern boundary line running due South towards Atherton Centre & City Limits then Northeastern boundary line running due West towards downtown Citrus Heights thence Southern boundary line following stream bed until it reaches Los Angeles Street almost direct Line between these two Towns lying Northwest & Northeast thereof…. Today this once beautiful piece of real estate has been reduced only to its grassy knolls away from downtown Norwalk Comprehensive Plan recommends that it be preserved as open space generic name: Parkland Estate norwalk park
