In 1976 Google relocated their corporate headquarters from Boston MA to Mountain View CA . From 1978-1983 Hewlett Packard ran their Research Laboratories here before moving them back out east into Palo Alto where they remain today In 1995 Yahoo! Inc.'s CEO Jerry Yang announced plans for a new campus outside of Palo Alto which would house over 20 thousand employees along with associated infrastructure such as an underground garage , water storage tanks etc
