This area served as an airfield for bomber operations during World War II and saw heavy use by the United StatesAAF during both hostilities. After the war ended,moragadonamedoneofthemostimportantairportsinNorthAmericainthesouthwest CornerofSanJoaquinCountyandbecamea major centerfor aviation industry development until it closed down in 1984. In recent years there has been some growth back into agriculture with almond orchards being prominent among those operations
Moraga is a small city in Contra Costa County, California. It was founded in 1887 by Captain George Moraga and his wife, Emma. The Moragas ran a post office here until 1893 when the town became incorporated. In 1916, the United States Postal Service moved the Moraga Post Office from its original location to an new building on Broadway near Interstate 680. The current post office building opened in 1963.
