They disbanded their company in 1928 and begun developing what would become Moorpark into a thriving commercial center with new housing developments (the first being RKO Center), businesses such as The Hecht Company grocery store (founded in 1929), movie theaters (Cinemark Auditorium opened in 1951), an amusement park called Western Park (opened May 1, 1949), a golf course named Highland Links & Country Club (now known as Arnold Palmer Golf Course) in 1956, and other Parkside properties including Westridge Estates shopping mall completed in 1984. The 1990s saw significant growth due to contributions by private donors including Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Foundation president Rick Riordan who contributed $30 million; Haim Saban's American Entertainment Networks made a gift of $50 million; Mesa Topsoil donated land worth over $350 million; Hollywood billionaire Mel Karmazin gave his daughter Rebekah Mercer money totalling $20 million; Midwestern philanthropist David Rockefeller provided seed money for Caltech's future energy research program; orange groves were donated by citrus mogul Jerald Andrus; local businesswoman Diane Greene became one of the largest individual donors ever given to Regency Properties Trustee Companies Incorporated – giving her total donation up to $100 million over 10 years.; In recent years there has been discussion about whether or not Moorpark should be annexed by neighboring municipalities like Northridge or Redlands because both have larger populations but no municipal services available within their boundaries such as schools or parks

Moorpark, California is located in the San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles County. The population was 12,878 at the 2010 census. It is a small town of about 8,000 people on the east side of Pasadena. Moorpark has been inhabited by humans since the beginning of history. The first permanent residents were Spanish settlers who arrived in 1769. In 1847, Rancho Atascosa was granted to José Guerrero and Francisco Alvarado. They named it Rancho Santa Anita after their patron saint, Santa Anita (1780-1850). A post office called Moorpark was established in 1854, and remained in operation until 1915. The town's first school was built in 1872-3 by William Hogg and his wife Lucy. It served as a daycare for their five children and their three servants. In 1895, Moorpark became part of the City of Los Angeles through an act of the state legislature. The city government purchased all land within its borders that had not already been leased to private enterprises or sold to resident citizens for housing development purposes. In 1924, architect John Galbraith designed what is now known as Galbraith Hall for use as a summer home by local families such as Hollywood elite like Irving Thalberg and Mary Pickford
Moorpark was founded in 1887 by George and Mary Morse. It was named for Harry Moor, a landowner who donated the land to the town. The first store opened in 1889. In 1915, the town incorporated and changed its name to Moorpark. The population of Moorpark grew slowly until the late 1960s when it exploded with growth due to new subdivisions and businesses that sprang up around Interstate 5.
