Moorpark is a city in northern California, United States. It is located on the edge of the San Gabriel Valley and was founded in 1887 by John S. Moor and his wife Eliza. The population was 23,492 as of 2010, making it the smallest city in Los Angeles County. The first settlers were Englishmen who arrived in 1847. They named their new community after Sir George Moore, 1st Baronet (1800-1876), one of the original investors in ranching in Southern California. In 1887, Moorpark became part of Los Angeles County after being selected as one of five cities along with Pasadena, Inglewood, Hawthorne and West Hollywood to be annexed into the county when it was created from parts of Orange County. Moorpark's rich history includes several key moments: In 1907, Republican Al Capone came to town from North Hollywood to sell shares in his enterprises before he was booked for extradition to New York City on charges of tax evasion. He spent two days at Moorpark's hotel before returning home to face arrest back at his headquarters on Mulberry Street near Veteran's Administration Hospital in Carson City . After a tough fight with police officers outside the hotelCapone surrendered and was released without any charges filed against him but had his nose broken during transport back home by two officers while under arrest inside the hospital building

In 1826, a group of American Riflemen met in Hartford, Connecticut to discuss how best to promote their new sport. The shirt featured a pistol grip stock with an open bolt action rifle behind it. It was designed to advertise gun manufacturers and shooting competitions across the United States. In 1848, Captain David Sibley created the first law enforcement SWAT team using rifles and handguns as their equipment. This event was documented in a military magazine called "Fifty Years Ago" which is now preserved at the Smithsonian Institution. In 1865, General George Meade started the Union Army during the American Civil War with his own troops equipped with rifles and pistols. He used these weapons against Confederate soldiers who had acquired similar weaponry from abroad. The popularity of firearms began to decrease during World War II because of concerns over nuclear radiation exposure and warfare methods being developed by Japan/. Moorpark is a city in Orange County, California, United States. Moorpark has a population of 97,992 as of the 2010 census. The first people to live in Moorpark were the Klamaths who moved there from Northern California in 1851. The city was named after Captain John Sutter and his party who discovered gold near present-day Anaheim on November 16, 1849. The City of Moorpark was incorporated on December 3, 1912 by an act of the State Legislature. In 1916, Moorpark became one of twenty cities granted charter status by the state government as part of its "City Beautiful" program. On July 1, 1933, the City Council amended its charter to make it an incorporated town with equal representation for both men and women. The incorporation process was repeated on October 7 that year when voters passed a referendum to place all municipal functions within mayoral jurisdiction instead of having them divided between councilmembers and mayoralty (the original form of government). In 1964 Tom Bradley became Mayor and created what is now known as "The Bradley Years" for city hall which quickly outgrown its facilities in downtown and began purchasing land atypical for a small town - areas such as Cottonwood Canyon near Warner Park and Highland Heights off I-5 - to create what is now known as East Mesa Boulevard which runs east-west through town center along bounded by Interstate 5 to provide access to shopping malls located just south and west of town while still remaining within walking or biking distance from most residents' homes. This growth led to initial debate over whether or not to annex neighboring municipalities but eventually decided against it due to concerns about traffic congestion caused by increased development while also maintaining good neighborliness policies; annexation would have brought more cars into town than could be accommodated without causing long commutes for residents during morning rush hour despite being well served by other services including transportation options outside town center
