NCBC moved into its current building on Market Street in 1951 and continues to serve this purpose to this day; it is one of the few Buddhist temples open to members of the general public. In 1969, Dharma Community Fellowship was founded with three cars and no houses when it came about from people who decided they needed housing near where they were living but didn't have any means themselves to get started and also because there wasn't much happening within town itself so they could just kind of hang out
