The museum was founded in 1972 by Waltraud Kapp, who was then the owner of a store on Fairfax Avenue in West Hollywood. It is now located at 15th Street and Vermont Avenue in Monterey Park. The Gunsight Museum's collection includes over 2,000 guns, including pistols, shotguns, rifles, and handguns from around the world. Monterey Park is a city located in Monterey County, California. The population was 54,592 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Francisco Bay Area and is home to the Monterey Park Recreation Center and several high school campuses as well as an agricultural center. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Monterey Park were fur traders from Siberia. They set up a trading post on December 6, 1824, near present-day Moss Landing. In 1828, they founded Isla Vista Colony on El Mirador Island off the tip of Point Conception Peninsula in order to provide goods for their Siberian kin living in California. In 1846, José Altamirano discovered oil reserves at Anza Creek within sight of Monterey Park. Petroleum production began immediately; this led to rapid growth and development of the city around him. The first store was built in 1850 on Market Street between First Avenue and Second Street and quickly became one of the most popular destinations for residents and visitors alike. At that time there were only a few homes with indoor plumbing; today’s streets date back to when water mains didn’t reach many places within walking distance! Today’s downtown area contains more than 30 buildings dating from 1870 through the present day including several theaters which have been preserved as part of Monterey Park history - most notably Regal (now AMC Theatres), Masonic Temple (1890), Lighthouse Theatre (1930), Paramount Theater (1940) - all two blocks south of City Hall on Broadway Street between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue! While much has changed since those early days – such as annexation by San Francisco – much has remained constants such as wonderful Will Rogers Drive running along Pacific Coast Highway bisecting downtown east-west just north of Regal Cinemas! And no matter what your feelings about Proposition 8 or voter turnout during November 8th 2013 – it should be remembered that every vote counts & that democracy DOES work...albeit slowly sometimes!

Closed eyes gunsights were designed by Nicholas-Jacques Conte in 1795. He designed a specific type of closed eye riflesight called an arcuate focuser or an “arc” sight. This type of sight was extremely accurate, allowing users to hit targets at distances up to 375 yards (300 metres). The first successful US trials with open sights took place in 1836 with John Browning’s new .44 caliber pistol. Open sights became very popular after this event because they allowed shooters to see both sides of the target more clearly than when using closed eyes gunsights. After World War II, most handguns were produced with open barrels, so it was no longer necessary to possess a separate Sight for each barrel as it had been before; however, some handguns still require closed eyes gunsights for better accuracy due to their design features such as hammercocks or other parts that require precision firing without seeing what is happening on-screen
