Montclair, California is home to the oldest handgun store in America. The store was founded by John Fenton in 1885. The store is still open and operates as a gunsmith and ammunition shop. It has been visited by presidents, movie stars, and other prominent figures. The store also has a museum that specializes in firearms history.

The Montclair Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1899. The club sponsored the first annual Montclair rifle and pistol match in 1903. In 1907, the Montclair Rifle and Pistol Club was renamed the American Rifle Association and became a member of the Federation of American Sports Clubs.
Montclair is a city located in Alameda County, California, United States. The population was 54,830 at the 2010 census. Montclair is the second most populous city in Alameda County after Oakland and its metropolitan area has a population of over 1 million people. Montclair was originally founded by missionaries from Hong Kong in 1871 as a small station on the Transcontinental Railroad. In 1907, it became part of the newly created City of Oakland and remained so until 1972 when it merged with neighboring Berkeley to form the current city of Montclair-Boothwyn. The Montclair region was first settled by Native Americans who hunted and gathered natural foods near Lakes Merritt and San Leandro while construction of the California Central Valley irrigation canal took place nearby. The first European settlers arrived in 1846 when Jedediah Smith explored what would become Alameda County. By 1870, several stores, including one run by George Hearn, had been established around what is now downtown Montclair. The post office at 6th and Sanford Streets opened on December 24, 1871; it was renamed Montclair on January 2nd of that year due to objections from other towns along the route being given similar names (e.g., Easton). The original thought behind creating an appellation for each new settlement was to avoid confusion among travelers; however, this proved difficult since many settlements were muddled together with little rhyme or reason. In 1907, pursuant to an agreement between Mayor Bliss and railroad officials regarding goods train services between Oakland and Hayward stations on the Peninsula Railway Company line south of Emeryville (the old C&NW main line), Montclair became an official town within Oakland upon its incorporation as a municipality under Caltrans regulations effective January 1st that year. Consequently, although it continued to be known as "Montclair" throughout its existence as an unincorporated community within Oakland proper (and even into 1973 when Berkeley consolidated with surrounding municipalities), all municipal functions within Montclair were vested exclusively with their new municipally chartered city government – including taxation (except for property assessments), public works management (including street cleaning/paving operations etc., which were managed by BART until1989), communication (through annexation of adjacent communities such as Walnut Creek) & zoning/development control – effectively ceding any oversight or authority over local affairs back to their new civic body status quo ante . Additionally annexed communities such as Walnut Creek did not enjoy this same level of autonomy & mutual assistance during these early years; rather they were operate primarily as rural service areas providing needed goods & services directly unto their residents without regard for municipal boundaries
Gun magazines have a long and varied history. They first appeared in the mid-19th century as small, hand-held pistols that could be reloaded with cartridges bought from vendors. By the early 20th century, however, rifles had become popular, so magazines became necessary to keep these firearms in working order. mags began to spread throughout society and are now common on most handguns and rifle platforms. The first rifles designed specifically for magazine feeding were the Winchester Model 1892 Rifle and 1893 Carbine (the latter featuring an extra feed port at the rear of the barrel for carrying ammunition). These rifles used a bolt action design which allowed them to be fitted with a 15 round magazine instead of the traditional 8 round capacity of earlier handguns. This modification also made it possible for such high powered rifles as the Winchester Model 1903 & 1905 to be fired continuously without having to reload each time! As gun magazines continued to become more popular, they began to be developed into more complex designs. The Browning Automatic Rifle featured an open frame layout which allowed it to accept both 10 or 20 round magazines – making it one of the most commonly used firearms in history! Additionally, some firearms like the Remington 870 Shotgun featured internal magazine systems that permitted them to fire rounds continuously from either side of the chamber!

Montclair was founded in 1866 by Captain John Montague and his family. The town was named for the Mount Claremont estate where Captain Montague had a summer home. The first post office was established in 1868, and the first store opened in 1870. In 1876, the first school opened in Montclair. In 1892, the Montague Manufacturing Company began manufacturing rifles and shotguns in Montclair. In 1924, Montclair incorporated as a city under California's state government. The city's charter provided for an elected mayor and city council with powers to establish ordinances, levy taxes, create public works projects, and borrow money for municipal purposes. The early years of Montclair were difficult due to its location within a large agricultural area that was still working to recover from the effects of gold exploration. However, by 1930 census data shows that the population of Montclair had increased to over 100 residents from just 10! The growth of the city led to new businesses being opening up all over town including a grocery store, bakery, department store (later JCPenney), movie theater ( later Regal), bowling alley (later Diamondsminus Bowling Alley), Storer's Drugstore & Liquor Saloon (later CVS Pharmacy) and many more small businesses that continue to operate today. "Through hard work and determination," Mayor Briggs said at a City Council meeting on Apr 9 1954 "Montclair has shown itself as one of America’s most successful towns." This statement is supported by statistics which show that since 2000-2001 whenATIVE Municipal Incorporated Facts report tax collections have grown continuously at an average rate of 12% annually while property values have tripled!" Today there are more than 2400 active businesses operating in downtown Monterrey with more than 50% women employed! There is also much progress being made towards creating new cultural attractions such as Art Gallery Of California –Monterrey now open 5 times per year showcasing both Mexican art as well as American artists; Montebello Park - One hectare park located adjacent to Interstate 35 provides excellent sportsman/fishing opportunities as well diverse environmental features including waterfalls/streams; Loma Prieta Park - A 1 hectare park located adjacent to Interstate 15 offers plenty of space for activities such as hiking/biking/camping etc.; Old Bridge State Historical Monument - A 2 story brick building facing Main Street offers visitors access through extensive exhibits on history surrounding crossroad days leading up to Chinatown Wars fought between China & America; Finally some exciting news recent annexations include:Canyon Hills annexed in 2009 bringing annexation total now exceeding 20 square miles!
