It was then that Winchester began producing fire arms commercially under their own name starting with the Model 1886 rifle which became known as “Winchester rifles” throughout America due to its popularity among law enforcement and military forces around the world.

Montclair also has its own police department which patrols the community with an officers-only policy to prevent crime or disorder on school property during school hours. In recent years, Montclair has become known for its organic produce markets which are open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 4pm; as well as its annual summer movie festival which features both mainstream and independent films throughout July and August

Montclair is a town in Alameda County, California, United States. The population was 21,518 at the 2010 census. Montclair is located adjacent to Oakland and east of San Francisco. Montclair became an incorporated village on December 3, 1887. The first post office in Montclair was established on November 30, 1847 by George Stephenson with the name of "Simsbury". A new post office was built on Maynard Road in 1870, and the name was changed to "Montclair" on October 1, 1870. The first store in Montclair opened its doors on May 2nd of that year. On January 1st 1902 the town of East Bay City merged with Montclair proper to form a single municipality with a population of 28,811 people. On July 15th 1907 the city and village had their final merger when they both were combined into one municipality with a population of 31,402 people; this action made East Bay City annexation legal which allowed for full incorporation as Montclair did not have any landowner’s vote necessary for incorporation). In 1909montreal annexed what are now Emeryville and Hayward neighborhoods from Berkeley. In 1916 it annexes portions of south Oakland from Alameda County and annexed Pleasanton from Contra Costa County creating what is now Silicon Valley
Montclair was a small, rural community in the Mojave Desert of California. The population was 1,512 at the time of incorporation on January 1, 1906. It was named for Major General Edward Montague (1827-1902), who served as military governor of Nevada from 1889 to 1892. The first post office in Montclair was established in 1884. The first settler in the area, Isaac Clapperton, arrived in 1879 and built a cabin on the grounds of what is now known as Montclair High School. In 1907,montclair became one of ten townships formed by California Governor [William] H. Richardson to provide more local self-government within their boundaries. In 1911, it voted to annex portions of neighbouring Las Vegas Township (now part of Henderson). It had a population of 2,500 when World War I began and grew rapidly during the war with an increase from 3,000 to 10,000 by late 1919. In 1922 it annexed most of nearby Yuma County and its population peaked at 31,521 in 1940; however following World War II there was little growth until the 1970s when suburban development increased along Interstate 5 near Montclair Hills Mall
