Montclair, California is a small city located in Contra Costa County, California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 54,651. Montclair has a rich ammunition history dating back to 1892 when John Ralston began manufacturing rounds for the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. Ammunition production continued at Ralston's company until 1907. In that year, Winchester merged with Remington and other NRA companies forming the American Rifle Association (ARA). The ARA oversaw production of rounds for military use by various organizations including the National Defense League and United States Army during World War I. Ammunition production recommenced at Remington after World War I but ceased due to antitrust concerns between the NRA and SWA throughout most of the 1920s. The post-World War II firearms industry saw significant growth in Montclair as both licensed ammunition producers and private manufacturers began to flood into town from all over America to exploit newly discovered uranium resources. At its peak in 1951, Montclair had an estimated 100 Ammo Manufacturers employing 1,500 people producing muzzleloaders and riflesights; numerous shotgunmakers; reloading shops; shotgun powder mills; pistolsmiths; rifle smiths; muzzleloading gunsmiths; custom gun builders/builders (CGBB); ammo sales promotion agencies (ASPA’s) In 1955 Ammo Manufacturers employed 2,000 people with 1,600 workers producing nearly everything from hand grenades to large-capacity feeding devices for artillery pieces Since then there have been few major changes to Montclair's vibrant munitions industry save for larger increases in employment (+100% during 1990 - present) as well as an increase in competition resulting from increased development outside of North America

Montclair, California is a small city in western Contra Costa County, California. The population was 24,604 at the 2010 census. It is located in the eastern San Francisco Bay Area and is the county seat of Contra Costa County. The name of Montclair comes from Spanish for "old mill" or "warehouse". The first Europeans to visit Montclair were traders and Missionaries who traveled up the Pacific Coast in 1769 and 1770. A mill was built on what is now Main Street by José de Portolà and named San Francisco de Asís after Mission Santa Clara. In 1839, George Washingtons father-in-law, Nathaniel Hawthorne, bought part of the Rancho Rinconcalo which included land that would become Montclair. Hawthorne renamed it Mount Pleasant after his home state of Maine. In 1881, James Fenton erected a cotton gin on what became Richards Boulevard near today's library before developing it into what is now known as Fenton Plaza. This plaza would become one of downtown's earliest commercial areas with its own Post Office and several businesses including Fenton Bazaar Grocery (now Macy's), Mrs. Beard Bakery (later Jello Belly) and eventually Woolworths department store which opened in 1927 on Third Street between Richards Boulevard and Interstate 80/Richards Avenue. In 1912 an act was passed by the California Legislature providing for an agricultural fair at Montclair each year to be held during coincides with Sacramento State Fairgrounds nearby; this fair led to the growth of agriculture within Montclair as well as neighboring communities such as Hercules, Lafayette Park, Newark and Millbrae over time until all but Hercules closed down by World War II because of lack of business opportunity due to war materials shortages across much of America combined with changes in technology affecting manufacturing processes that made these industries more difficult to produce quickly once they moved out westward across the Great Lakes region). During World War II many residents left their homes east of I-80 for rural townships west side along I-580 due to rationing; however most citizens returned home soon after hostilities ended when Production resumed back east following Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec 7th 1941 & American entry into World War II On Jan 2nd 1945 UPI reported “Allied bombing campaign yields few casualties” & “UFO evidence linked to Japanese forces” so thousands more people decided not return home just like many others throughout America had done prior without notice or media attention leading some say sparkWWII scaremongering among some individuals who instead chose patriotic slogans such as GEORGEWHITE HISTORY IS TRUE which I have yet to find any compelling proof beyond speculative claims against mainstream historians today AFB residents knew about local weapons plants located right next door at Berryessa airfield HOWEVER no one ever mentioned them publicly & even less discussed possible UFO activity inside or outside our community? So apparently there has been more information blackout surrounding this topic than publicityseeking individuals might suggest! Starting around 1966 when BART began operations through Hayward International Airport it also became necessary for locals (& those living near Highway 680)accessibility via public transportation either walking or biking if you wanted access onto BART stations during non-peak hours meaning long lines forming up at bus stops everyday! Although biking & walking have continued unabated throughout Finch Hills redevelopment efforts starting around 2001 Bike lanes were added making travel through town easier but it still takes quite awhile getting somewhere especially if you don't live closeby station otherwise bikes can easily fill up quickly with no room left at buses stop! Today nearly everyone who lives in town uses public transportation whether they want it or not!.
