The history of Monrovia goes back to 1849 when Captain John Monaghan and his wife Mary Ann Gibbons traveled through California looking for a new home for their family after leaving New England where they had been born and raised. They found a tract of land that would become downtown Monrovia today and began development. On November 20th of that year they formally organized what would become known as the "Butterfield Overland Mail Route" with Dr. George HaddonMonroe serving as its first conductor/owner/manager (later becoming its president). Theramon Valley Railroad was completed in 1896 and connected downtown Monrovia with Stockton via an 8-mile looping track which still exists today! After decades of growth and progress throughout San Francisco Bay Area - including annexations by Hillsborough (1940), Fremont (1941), Hayward (1951), Pleasanton (1963) - it was announced on July 16th, 1969 that monorail service would begin between two stops located just north of downtown: Daly City BART station & South Park Boulevard at Eastridge Mall! This momentous event ushered in a new era in monorail history - opening up entire neighborhoods formerly off limits to commuters alike for easy access to jobsites & nightlife not far from major city centers! Downtown Munrovia quickly became one of the most vibrant areas within Silicon Valley due to its proximity to leading technology companies such as Apple Inc., Microsoft Corp., Google Inc., Facebook Inc., Twitter Inc., Oracle Corporation & many more! Despite this flurry of activity however there were some key drawbacks associated with rapid growth such as increased traffic congestion on Interstate 580 which forced construction onto streets which led to widened sidewalks & parking LOTS being required; also water shortages became increasingly common during hot summer months due to overflowing reservoirs caused bymonsoon rains; finally air quality began deteriorating rapidly due both from high levels OF particle pollution resulting from industrial production (& car exhaust) along with numerous open flame fires burning outhouses all throughout town during late nights... these issues were exacerbated by infamous crime rates associated with tightly knit Silicon Valley gangs who took advantage of economically disadvantaged communities like Munrovia for their illicit activities During my time living here I’ve seen some amazing things happen – everything from startup businesses getting off the ground & blossoming into successful enterprises overnight thanks primarily to generous investors willing to overlook small beginnings; residents taking Initiative To Bring Forward Local Issues ThatVDOT Wasnt Willing To Address Anymore (& Starting Their Own Politicians);to local schools graduating 3rd grade students no matter how much money parents have (*cougars* );to young professionals moving here specifically because they see great opportunity here while others remain entrenched& settled elsewhere;& lastly but not least,MONROVIANS ARE VICTIMS OF A NEW Civil Rights Movement.. MONROVIANS ARE DEMANDING ACTION FROM THEIR LOCAL GOVERNMENT !
