Gun targets have a long and varied history in Modesto, California. The first target was built by George Armstrong Custer in 1879 on the property of his father-in-law, Major John Sutter. The target was a small woodcock with a cloth or paper disk attached to its forehead. In 1916, J.R. Hickey started building gun targets at his home on Eastridge Road in Modesto. This business continued until 1974 when Hickey's son, Ken Hickey took over the business. From here, KEHKEYTARGETS has been running the business ever since! The post office later moved to its current location at 501 First Street, and the target was relocated there in 1912. It remained there until it was destroyed by fire in 1984. In 1889, a shooting range was established on land that now houses the State Library of California. It continued to operate until 1957 when it closed because of budget cuts. In 1916, a rifle range was established on what is now the west side of town at 1300 Second Street. It operated until 1939 when it closed due to World War II military restrictions on firearms use.
Modesto is a town in the San Joaquin Valley of California, United States. The population was 37,651 at the 2010 census. It is located in Stanislaus County. The name Modesto comes from Spanish "majestic" and "estancia", meaning "station". The first permanent settler in what is now Modesto was Juan Rodriguez de la Cueva, who founded Rancho Los Nietos on December 27, 1797. In 1821, John Sutter arrived with his party of Forty Thieves and founded the city of Sacramento on the north bank of the Rogue River. After years of effort by both entrepreneurs and state officials, Sacramento was granted city status on February 14, 1846. On November 14 of that year, Californian militia led by Captain John Condon expelled Mexican immigrants from are now eastside neighborhoods – including parts of today's Modesto – following what became known as the California Gold Rush. In 1875-76 an act to create two counties within Stanislaus County were approved by the Legislature; but Colusa County was never formed because it would have included much present-day Modesto (including most of its eastern edge). The only thing linking these two counties until after 1910 were scattered ranching and agricultural communities near modern-day Modesto City boundaries then defined largely by water rights claims inherited from predecessors such as Rancho La Humboldt and Rancho Santa Clara de Ashby. The post office at Red Bluff opened on October 13th1888 under homesteader Jens Christensen's name after he had come downriver from Oregon via Mendocino Bay. In 1890–91 my father took over operations for A & H Mail Service which had been established in Red Bluff six weeks earlier as A mailboat service between Red Bluff and Ukiah ran aground at Angel Island off Soquel Point during a stormy winter month while attempting to round Cape Horn across Superior Bay - one event which helped establish Modeste importance within this rapidly growing county seat community adjacent to several major river crossings including Highway 101 south to Stockton south to Castro Valley north past Daly City past Menlo Park intoSan Francisco Peninsula before finally arriving at Bodega Bay about 12 nautical miles offshore about 25 miles out due east off Point Lobos about 4 nautical miles wide just inside San Francisco Harbour where he unloaded mailbags fresh off boats ontoshore before sailing back upriver towards Black Rock Pass where he cached his cargo until lighter ships could carry it ashore for shipment inland during dry seasons when open ocean passage was unavailable or expensive to navigate A&H Mail Service continued operations until 1953 when they merged with US Postal Service bringingmodestocolorshopsandpostalboxesintooneentityforthefirsttimeinAmerica! By 1968 they were joined by Safeway who built their own warehouse next door which still stands today! Today USPS operates a small parcel service called FedEX that helps send packages all over America street level! MODESTO has seen many changes throughout its history: time has not stopped it however; development has continued unabated making MODESTO always something special no matter what type of business you decide to set up shop in our beautiful town!

This was an early form oftarget shooting, and it helped improve the accuracy of arrows and weapons! In 3rd century AD, Greeks began using these same type of target devices in military campaigns against Persia. They called these “cylinders” because they resembled cylinders made out of wood or stone! These cylinders were designed to cause great damage to enemy troops while they slept! This was an early form of artillery, and it helped Persian forces victory over their enemies! Gun targets continued to be used by Greeks and Romans until around 1300 AD when they began using crossbows instead! Crossbows had three barrels that could be fired separatly, and this allowed for much greater accuracy than traditional firearms! It was during this time that gunners started using reverse bows which could shoot straight back ! This was an incredible improvement over previous methods because it allowed for much more precision when firing cannons! Later on, Muslim armies began using these same types of target devices during their wars against Christian Europe!! targeting became extremely important during religious battles as scriptures often said specific areas should be avoided!!!!!!!!! Guns became even more important as Muslims began realizing how effective they could be at murdering innocent civilians!!! The Islamicization of Warfare led to increased casualty rates due to indiscriminate fire!!!!!! Gun Targets Today
