On October 20, 1853 Californio Isaac Parmelee burned down two missions - Mission San José Rey del Cielo andMission Nuestra Señora de la Concepción - during an attempt to seize control of Rancho Santa Anita from Mexican ranchers. In 1861 American troops burned down both missions during the Mexican–American War because they considered them targets of hostile Indian activity; this event is also celebrated as November 15 in Mexico with festivities including historical re-enactments of some aspects of that conflict at various locations around town). A settlement agreement between Pacheco Yorba Linda Corporation Limited Partnership et al., trustees representing various interests within Manor View Homes Incorporated et al., owner/operator thereof who purchased approximately 123 acres adjacent thereto between terminate street northerly boundary line running thence easterly along said boundary line towards Malibu Creek watersheds with right ascension 8000 feet above mean sea levelwidening gradually Thereafter northeasterly along said boundary line towards Angeles National Forest watersheds zigzag westerly taking about 100 feet less altitude reaching en route an apex at about 12000 feet above mean sea level just beyond boundaries limits Of City Of Villa Park

Mission Viejo is a census-designated place in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 23,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Mission Viejo began as an agricultural mission on December 17, 1823 by Father José Antonio Vargas and brothers José María and Francisco Atanasio Cabrillo. The original San Buenaventura de Anza rancho included land now in Mission Viejo. The mission was named after Saint Augustine of Hippo because General Fernando de Noriega visited the area in 1826 while on his way to attack Mexico City. In 1829, Mexican forces burned down the mission buildings and killed all but one of the Vargas brothers. Father Vargas founded another agricultural mission called Rancho Santa Ana de Anza (laterSanta Ana Rey) about two miles east of present-day Mission Viejo on August 29, 1830 for local Native Americans who had helped him build the first missions in California. In 1836, most of what is now downtown Mission Viejo was burned down by Californios during their war with Mexicans. Some foundations still remain from that fire including a building used as a jail today and part of what is now Kaiser Permanente Medical Center were built from this evidence. The following year saw increased American interest in California due to gold discoveries near Salinas Cathedral which led to new settlers moving into what would becomeMission Viejo from around Southern California such as Newport Beach and Laguna Beach; some people even coming overland through Death Valley via Big Sur The town started off small with only 12 residents when it incorporated on January 1st 1850 under the name "Vieja Californiana" (). On July 16th 1860 voters approved passage of an act creating Monterey County which encompassed everything north of I-5 within its boundaries; including much of eastern Orange County includingMission Viejo On November 30th 1870 a fire destroyed most or all buildings within District 3 (which included present-day Mission Viejo) leaving only a few cobblestone streets remaining within district boundaries . A reconstructed version of old Missions San Juan Capistrano/Mira del Carmen/ Nuestra Señora del Refugio are located just east of current day Mira Road inside District 2 . After almost 50 years since its incorporation, VIEJA reincorporated itself as an independent city on May 14th 1994 with seat at Town Hall Square Today VIEJA has experienced growth paralleling that seen throughout much Angeleno life with median family incomes surpassing those found in much larger cities such as LA or SF
