This meant that while not every person in Millbrae owned a scope, there was always someone who could provide them with some good advice or help out if they needed it. In 1978, Milton Rubin started selling telescopes again and soon became known as the "father" of modern astronomy in Millbrae. He built his first telescope in 1954 and since then has been selling scopes door-to-door throughout California along with providing quality service. He is considered by many to be one of the most influential figures behind modern astronomy because he helped popularize Amateur astronomership within California as well as developing techniques for tracking stars down using Schmidt plates which are still being used today by professional astronomers all over the world! Rubin also donated many items from his collection such as a star chart housing 1118 stars which is currently on display at UC Berkeley’s Davis Observatory!
