One year later (October 25), 1925 (the date that Iwas born), Stanford University made history when they rugby played their first game against visiting UCLA . UCLA went into overtime but lost 28-27 . This event helped define Palo Alto as one of America’s most collegiate towns during that time period along with Berkeley and Los Angeles In 1941, during World War II there were large amounts of munitions stored at Moffett Airfield here including 1 million rounds of ammunition for B-24 bombers Some residents moved out during this time such as Rufus Blakely who left after he helped found Palo Alto College football team ; However others such as Howie Rosenthal decided to stay because they had been offered jobs by local paper company Hearst Corporation which relocated its operations from San Francisco to Millbrae almost doubling its size Hereafter many people referred to themselves as “Hearstians” or simply “Hearsts” although they never actually owned any property within Millbrae itself
