Millbrae is a village in Marin County, California, United States. The population was 721 at the 2010 census. Millbrae is located on the western edge of the San Francisco Peninsula, bordering Golden Gate Park to the south and east and Treasure Island to the north. It is northeast of Sausalito. The first Europeans to visit Millbrae were Spanish missionaries in 1769. A mill was built in 1824 by Hiram Maxim, founder of Maxim Guns and Ammunition Company. In 1881, John Capps opened a grocery store on First Street which became one of the largest in Marin County until it closed in 1969. In 1907, Mr. Capps' son-in-law Harry Fenton developed what became known as Fenton Ranch which included much of Millbrae Village including current day Millbrae Elementary School and Mrs. Fenton's houses on Fourth Street between Third and Fourth Streets (now part of town). In 1951, Pacific Gas & Electric company constructed two transmission towers across from where present day First Street meets Mission Bayou just outside present day Millbrae Village boundaries - these are still visible from some parts of town today; eventually they were dismantled over time as PGE built new transmission lines closer to Sausalito However, during World War II a large military airfield was used by both American and Japanese forces at nearby Amagansett Bayou near present day Discovery Point before being abandoned entirely during 1945 when Japan surrendered The earliest occupants of what is now Millbrae Village date back to about 1800 when Jedediah Smith discovered gold hereabouts while exploring for contact with Native Americans along modernight's Napa River Valley By 1800 there had been settlement here by fur traders such as Captain James Cook who explored this area for trade with Native Americans After Russian Fur trader Pavel Tchenyaev found gold at Amagansett Bayou adjacent to present day Sausalito on December 14th 1775 he reported this discovery to his captain Ivan Fedorovich Petrovich de la Rúa y Meneses y Garza alias Don José de Jesús Maria del Valle y Salinas(1737-1810) - but no further exploration followed until Juan Bautista Blanco discovered rich resources around Mount Diablo en route from Mexico City via Sonoma Valley on October 15th 1787 naming honor for José Joaquín Centeno Pereira (1768-1825), viceroy general during second Mexican war under Maximilian II jr.(1785-1806) - following Juan Bautista Blanco's find another team began mapping alluvial gold fields throughout Northern California including that around Napa Valley by August 1789 when their leader Manuel Nieto set up camp near modern day Yountville among other sites visited by prospectors during late summer/early fall that year named after him Marqués Nieto de la Sierra y Atanasoff (1800-1877) early 19th century Mexican land surveyor No further exploration occurred until 1823 when Jedediah Smith again discovered gold at Amagansett Bayou although no

Millbrae is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of California, about 20 miles south of Fresno. Millbrae was founded in 1887 by John and Lillie Aiken Milligan as a cotton plantation on the east side of the Kern River, near what is now known as Auburn. The mill was destroyed by fire in 1908 and never rebuilt. The Aikens lived there until their death in 1951. In 1912, Millbrae became an incorporated town with a population of 100. In 1922, it changed its name to Millbrae (now Menlo Park) after J.P. Morgan's company bought the town for $10,000 from the Aiken family. railroad magnate David Eitel boughtMillbrae in 1927 and renamed it Morgan Station because it served as his headquarters during his ownership of Southern Pacific Railroad (SP). Eitel's successors sold off portions of Millbrae until 1945 when they gave it back to the Aiken family who continued to live there until their deaths in 1978 and 1984 respectively; Jahan Morris then took over management of the community until he died in 1988. In 1990, after years of planning and construction by local residents, Millspark Elementary School opened its doors to students at nearby Appleby Middle School; this marked the first time that elementary students were integrated into their neighboring schools across two school districts within Contra Costa County . The community has since seen other changes including becoming home to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's childhood home before he moved on to Menlo Park where he currently lives; having been purchased by Google for $1 billion in 2005; being redeveloped into commercial properties such as Chiquita Brands' Agoura Hills campus which opened up last year; and finally becoming part of Facebook's "community pages" social media networks worldwide under new management with offices located just outside Menlo Park BART station whichopened up earlier this year
In 1847, Millbrae was founded by the brothers Charles and Augustus Gray. They started a mill to make flour for their farmstead. The gray family continued to farm in Millbrae for many years and produced hay, oats, wheat, barley, peas, and other vegetables. In the 1920s, the ranching industry began to grow in Millbrae. A large irrigation system was installed in 1923 which allowed more land to be irrigated and led to increased crop production. In the 1930s-40s, there were a number of accidents at the mill which caused extensive damage. Finally, in 1948, the mill was sold to Pacific Gas & Electric Company who operated it until it was closed down in 1977.
