Though holster manufacture has been taking place in Menlo Park, California for over a century, the first commercial holster was developed in 1892. It was called the "American Holster" and it consisted of a belt loop that could be fastened to the waistband of a pantsuit or blouse with an adjustable buckle. The holster allowed handguns to be concealed without having to remove them from their owners'body. The American Holster company ceased operations in 1893, but its successor, Sliemen's Holsters, continued production until 1926. Sliemen's holster designs were based on concepts pioneered by George de la Rue and his associate John Fenton. In 1911, Menlo Park resident William Hogue began developing what would become known as the "Hogue Holster". The holster consisted of two separate straps that passed around the body and attached at one end to a belt loop and at the other end to an owner's pocket or coat hanger. This method of carrying firearms prevented them from falling out of reach while being worn and allowed for greater accuracy when handling firearms. By 1935, Hogue had produced several variations on his original design which became known as the "Hogue-Barrett" series holsters. These holsters featured hand-grip gripping surfaces on either side of the gun barrel which eliminated danger of slipping during carry. In 1938, Hogue produced what is regarded as his most famous firearm accessory - the Heckler & Koch P9A1 handgun platform holster。 This particular holster was designed specifically for use with German pistols and features unique fittings that make it difficult for unauthorized personnel to remove weapons from their owners' bodies

Menlo Park is a city in San Mateo County, California. The population was 44,451 at the 2010 census. It is the largest city in Silicon Valley and one of the most diverse cities in Northern California. Menlo Park was founded on August 17, 1879 by George C. Kapp and his family as a small research station used by them and their associates in their effort to create a new form of electric lighting that could be used worldwide. The city's first mayor was Frank A. Norris, who served from 1905 to 1909. The original shopping center located downtown remains an important commercial district today with over 100 stores including Macy's, Sears, JCPenney, Kohl's, Apple Inc., Levi Strauss & Co., and Nordstrom Rack. The current location of Menlo Park began as part of what would become Palo Alto when Rancho Tejon land was acquired from John Davenport for $3 million on November 3, 1881 (). Davenport had been interested in developing Palo Alto into a town but did not want to sell it until he received assurances that certain rights would be reserved including use of the local water supply which he obtained from Don Pedro Ferreyra (). On November 15th 1882 (), two meetings were held at the home of Mrs. Anna Maria Mills to consider such changes as forming a town or village surrounding telegraph station () on land donated by Ferreyra east of Coyote Road (later renamed Alma Street). At first many people opposed this idea because they thought it would give away too much property; however after some argument with Mrs. Mills some decided to go ahead with the idea while others stayed away because they did not yet have enough evidence that it would work out(). After more than six months of discussion no decisions had been reached so on February 2nd 1883 (), another meeting was called to hear reports about plans for a town or village around telegraph station (). This time there were much more people present since Mayor Norris had already given his consent (); however again no action was taken until March 10th 1883 when rumors started swirling about whether or not someone actually wanted to build a town ()—this time it turned out to beMrs. Mills who lobbied hard for Menlo Park to get started before anyone else did (). On May 4th 1883 (), following negotiations between Mr Ferreyra and Mr Kapp (who also owned half of the land), Menlo Park officially became reality when Kapp sold his share back to Ferreyra for $2 million (). Shortly thereafter construction began on what would eventually become known as "the park" - an area now bounded by First Street westward towards Stanford University; Second Street southward towards UC Berkeley;and Third Street eastward towards El Camino Real whereupon streets were added north and south creating an approximate total area of . In 1886() City Council changed its name from "Palo Alto" ()to "Menlo Park". During World War II Menlo Park played hostels for American troops stationed nearby such as Camp Firewood near Arroyo Seco Creek and Fort Belvoir which grew into North Pacific Coast Air Base during World War II (). With other Continents Air Forces locations throughout Northern California provided men with food storage locker/rations storage areas complete with barbecues during war years In 1949 Mayor William Hoyle ordered all advertising within 500 feet radius including those window stickers removed due then-current zoning laws) In response 20% off coupons were given out at local merchants near City Hall starting September 8th 1949 thru January 1st 1950
Menlo Park was founded on October 1, 1887 by George W. Menlo and his wife Clara. The town was named after the Menlo Mountains in Palo Alto, California. In 1893 the men started a flour mill and soon other businesses were added to the mix including a chocolate factory. The early days of Menlo Park were rough with plenty of arguments and fistfights between the men but things changed when they created their own school system which helped create a more cohesive community. The town quickly became known for its innovation and creativity as well as its beautiful parks such as Mountain View Oval where people would play cricket or football etc. In 1927 the men donated land to form Stanford University which later became one of America's leading universities. Today Menlo Park is an important center for technology and science with many high-tech companies located there including Google, Facebook, Apple, Intel Xeon Phi and Microsoft Azure cloud services
