The history of firearm clothing in Menifee, California goes back to the early 1800s. Over time, different groups of settlers and travelers have brought firearms with them wherever they went. One such traveler was John C. Fremont, who traveled through Menifee in 1851 and 1852 looking for new land to explore. He noted that there were no stores or shops available in the town, so he made his way to a local gunsmith named Hinton to purchase a rifle. When Fremont arrived in Menifee, he was the first person to ever shoot an animal with a firearm! In 1875, Captain George Armstrong opened the first store in Menifee when he bought land adjacent to The Rancho San Joaquin from Juan Borrero. The store initially sold goods including saddles and guns, but soon began selling ammunition as well. In 1898, Captain Armstrong's son-in-law reopened the store under the name The American Rifle & Pistol Emporium and it continued to operate until 1951. During its time as an outlet for firearms enthusiasts throughout Northern California and Nevada, The American Rifle & Pistol Emporium also served as a training ground for military officers during World War II. After years of operation by different owners and managers, The American Rifle & Pistol Emporium closed its doors for good on September 9th, 2011 after more than fifty years in business. Today only traces of the original signage remain from those days; however, memories ofCaptain Armstrong's Sonship still lingers long inside this historic building today!

It had been founded by Mexicans in the late 1800s as part of the Gold Rush excitement around Sutter's Fort. But things changed quickly when General John C. Frémont discovered gold there in 1849. The miners turned their attention to Menifee, and it quickly became known as "the mining center of California." But things really got started here in 1876 when George Washington Smith arrived. That day, he set up camp on the edge of town and began exploring for gold. By 1880, he had found some nice profitable veins of silver ore and started working them out at his mine. With these new resources coming in, Menifee soon became one of the most important towns in Northern California. In fact, it even grew larger than San Francisco! And because it was an agricultural center with many huge flour mills and other businesses, Menifee prospered until World War II when everything went into decline due to hard times for the industry nationally. But today there are still a few businesses that thrive hereabouts!

He named it after Mount Whitney in California. The Orangemen from Fresno started to settle at Menifee in 1865-1866. By 1902, there were more than 1,000 people living at Menifee. The post office at Menifee was first established on October 3, 1868. It served the community until 1915 when it became part of Union City. In 1916, the town incorporated and changed its name to Menifee Borough. Between 1918 and 1922, men built two churches- First Presbyterian Church and Second Methodist Episcopal Church. The first church was dedicated on December 6th while the second church was dedicated on December 17th under leadership of Mrs Ethel Burchill who is also credited with creating the idea for a park which would later become city hall Park
Menifee was founded in 1875 by George and Mary Menifee. It became a city in 1907. The men were the original founders of what is now Menifee Unified School District.
