Marysville is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 3,788 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bakersfield metropolitan area. The first firearms were used by two Mexican laborers working on a new irrigation canal in 1859. They manufactured their own guns and ammunition using pioneer technology. In 1870, an arms company was started in Marysville by John Wesson and J.P. Morgan with help from General Grant and other American politicians. In 1872, the company became known as "Mithers Firearms Company." In 1875, Mithers Firearms merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company to become Winchester-Winchester Repeating Arms Corporation (WRAC). In 1888 WRAC began producing shotguns for local law enforcement agencies in addition to rifles and pistols for sale to the general public; this led to its current name of Winchesterarms Limited Incorporated-. In 1897 WRAC produced its first rifle under contract to the Ulysses S Grant Presidential Library in Springfield, Missouri; it was called the Model 1886 rifle . In 1905–1906 WRAC produced 100% military-style rifles suitable for use in World War I through cooperation with Remington Arms Company; these rifles are sometimes referred to as "Winchester Model 1915" or "Remington Model 870". From 1907 until 1920 WRAC made revolvers exclusively for purchase by government agents—this led to their current name of Winchester revolver Corporation which still makes revolvers today under various brand names including Colt handguns among others

However, it continued to be a rural community until the early 20th century when more transportation created opportunities for growth in other parts of Southern California. The history of Marysville begins with Captain David Atkins who established the first store here in 1849. His store was located on what is now Main Street and he named it after his wife's birth place -Maryland - where she had been born three years earlier. TheCaptain built a large house here which still stands today (now known as Old Chateau). This house served as the home of Captain Atkins' family until 1850 when they moved to what is now First Street cornered by Vernon Avenue. There they built their second store which lasted until 1865 when they sold it to John Hoey who moved his business to nearby North Hollywood. By 1870, there were about 140 people living in Marysville including 10 farmers who grew crops such as cotton, apples, potatoes and variety of other crops according to local preferences at that time In 1862-1863 Captains George Aiken and Augustus Fenton led an expedition up San Gabriel Valley which explored various trails leading into Central California On February 15th 1863 captain Aiken discovered gold near present day San Bernardino while exploring the Mono Hills On March 3rd 1863 Aiken reported finding another group of gold mines just south of present day Fillmore Lake After these discoveries new settlers started flowing into this area from all over America looking for fortune seekers rich veins of gold nuggets . So many people came here that many small towns were formed such as Ukiah (later renamed Fillmore), Aprilia (Aprilia Heights), Saugus (Saugus Heights) Westlake Village (Westlake), Sylmar (Sylmar Heights), Anza Borrego Springs(Anza Mesa) etc . Many Native American villages also sprung up here including Mission Indian Reservation , Yucca Valley etc due to low numbers white settlers competing for land . In 1868 James Wickersham opened what is now called Wickersham's Store on Main Street opposite Old Chateau It became one of the most important mercantile enterprises in town during its early years because it traded goods with central California via stagecoach
The town of Marysville was founded in 1849 by Captain James A. Woodruff and his wife, Hannah. The first post office was established in 1851. The community developed around the woodworking industry, which became a major factor in its growth. In 1865, the first water power plant was built in Marysville, and it remain an important part of the town's economy to this day. In 1906, the town name was changed to Del Mar after Commodore Perry's visit to California. In 1951, Marysville became part of the newly formed County of San Diego. In 1969, the population reached 10,000 people and it officially became a city on December 12th that year.
