In 1922, the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce organized a meeting to discuss expanding the city limits. The group voted to annex parts of Santa Clara County and establish a new City of Los Gatos. In 1925, the City of Los Gatos was ratified by the California State Legislature. The city was granted a charter and became an incorporated town on February 17, 1926. The first mayor of Los Gatos was Harry Laughlin. Other notable elected officials at the time included Supervisor Alanson Wainwright, Mayor Edwin Sargent and Trustee John Cavanaugh. In 1937, portions of Santa Clara County were annexed into Los Gatos while still remaining part of San Jose County. On December 6, 1961, Mayor Don Haughey announced that he would not seek re-election because he felt his term had expired. On December 12th ballot results were received which showed Haughey had received 38% of the vote compared to 42% for challenger Dick Merrill who won with 54% of the vote
Los Gatos is a small city located in Santa Clara County, California, about an hour's drive from San Francisco. The population was 24,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Jose–Sunnyvale-Santa Clara metropolitan area. Los Gatos is home to several universities and research institutions as well as a number of large businesses and government agencies. The town was first settled by Mexicans in 1851 and named Junín after General José Antonio de Ayala y Correa, who had led Mexican forces into California during the Mexican War of Independence. In 1868, land grants were made to Englishmen by Governor Pio Pico (1821-1892) in order to encourage settlement in this rural area. The town began growth when it was platted as Villa Park on March 12, 1870 by Captain George Witherow with 160 lots for $1 per acre. In 1888, the town became incorporated under the name Los Gatos with a population of 100 people; it increased its size rapidly through annexation of neighboring townships until there were over 1,000 people living here by 1907. The current incarnation of Los Gatos began becoming established as a bedroom community for Silicon Valley professionals during the late 1960s and early 1970s when commuting wealth became available near San Francisco Airport via then-new highways 27 and 1010 which bypassed downtown Los Gatos completely. During World War II much of what now makes up Downtown Los Gatos was used as military airfields including North American Aviation Headquarters Building (now known as Googleplex), Beech Aircraft Hangar #2 (now known as City Hall), Consolidated Vultee Corp.'s Point Mugu plant No. 2 (now known as Sears Tower), Lockheed Martin's satellite control facility at Wright-Patterson AFB and numerous other buildings including Ford Motorsports Corporation's old Willow Garage where they manufactured Ford Angles before moving to Dearborn MI.,[1] among many others.[2][3] Many aerospace companies remain headquartered in Downtown Los Gatos today such that many streets within limits originally designated for "residential use" are now called "industrial areas." Some high profile companies that have their headquarters or major operations outside Original Town Center include Apple Inc., Facebook Inc., Salesforce Ltd., Twitter Inc., Pixar Animation Studios employees' co-workers house at 1600 Amphitheater Drive,[4][5] Hewlett Packard Co.'s Livermore lab (#HP Labs) on Techwood Drive,[6] Intel Corp.'s Menlo Park campus,[7],[8][9] Western Digital Company's data center Campus Area on Coyote Way between Main Street/US National Highway 1010/Palo Alto Road - one stoplight from Silicon Valley International Airport - also home to PayPal Holdings Limited’s main office space adjacent to Verizon Wireless’ 5G network testing ground nearby which continues operate using leased facilities formerly used by AT&T Mobility Services company along with Time Warner Cable’s new George Lucas theme park set amid manicured lawn next door housing several restaurants etc...[10][11] less

In February of 1977, Volkswagen renamed the original mount 'Mk III' and began marketing it as a four-door Mount for the Golf MK2. The MkIII mount was designed to replace the original Golf Mk1 mounts which had been in use since 1974. In 1978,VW produced an enlarged version of the MkIII called the MkIV which became available as a five-door Mount with increased capacity for either a steering wheel or airbag inflators. In October of 1979, VW produced an enlargement of the MkIV called the MkV which became available with both a steering wheel and airbag inflator. This new design allowed for increased cargo space inside and outside of the car. In 1990, Volkswagen released another enlargement of their MkV called the MkVI which became available with both a steering wheel and airbag inflator.
