One of the primary objectives of the exposition was to promote tourism as a key industry in southern Californias economy which at that time numbered only 2% of GDP but grew to over 20%. This resulted in more people moving into Los Angeles County and helped spur economic development including heavy industry such as shipbuilding which boosted employment levels across all sectors including agriculture. In 1916 – just prior to World War I – Mayor Hubert H Humphrey ordered construction of what is now known as Hollywood Boulevard paralleling Griffith Park serving primarily as a commercial artery with movie theaters crowding along one side while residential areas ran parallel on both sides providing ample opportunity for housing development especially around Hollywood Boulevard itself where several high-rise apartment buildings still stand today testament to how rapidly town square could change during those days! This period saw rapid growth within LA also resulting in several landmark events including Chavez Ravine becoming world famous for its curves created when water spilled out from under then-city street vehicles during heavy rains; Hollywood becoming home to some of American cinema’s most prestigious studios such MGM/UAFA Productions; King Farouk I visiting America and toured central LAs various neighborhoods before finally staying at his private Beverly Hills estate; Auto Showrooms popping up all over town selling luxury cars…the list goes on! However, times changed quickly during World War II with rationing leading to lower production values overall which contributed significantly towardsational decline starting in 1942 followed closely by post war recession exacerbated by increased crime rates resulting in many workers leaving their jobs unable or unwilling to pay costs associated with returning home from overseas service Those once prosperous Gateway Cities soon found themselves struggling economically with numerous manufacturing job losses combined with falling population density making commuting much harder than it used to be even though many residents still retained close cultural ties essential for social stability both nationally & internationally despite difficult living conditions outside metropolitan areas due largely to lack of infrastructure necessary for mass transit & other important services….In fact until recently few if any remnants remained eitherhistoric or archeological evidence remainingfrom early Orange County settlements platted east Of downtown OC thru Anaheim hastening Disintegration thereof
