Gun Parts History in Los Altos, California began with the founding of the arsenal by Captain John C. Fremont on May 9, 1855. The original armory was located at 14th and Mission Streets in what is now the heart of downtown Los Altos. The first guns used at the arsenal were muskets and pistols. In 1858, gun parts manufacturer James Hogg opened his store on One Hundred Fifty-fourth Street between San Pablo Avenue and Menlo Park Boulevard. From 1861 to 1865, Captain Fremont's son Charles W. Fremont served as City Marshal of Los Altos and directed the city's armory. In 1903, Llewellyn Manufacturing Company bought out James Hogg's company and changed its name to Llewellyn Arms Corporation. From 1912 until 1945, Llewellyn Arms Corporation manufactured rifles for American Military Forces (AMF) during World War II (1939-1945). Llewellyn Arms Corporation ceased production of firearms in 1945 but continued manufacturing ammunition products through 1947. The current owner of Llewellyn Arms Corporation is Brownells Incorporated which was founded in 1966 by Bob Brownell who became president in 1984. In 1992, Brownells merged with Magpul Industries Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of United Polymer Corp., creating one of the largest firearms manufacturers in North America. From 1990-1998; Brownells also produced shotgun parts for Winchester Repeating Firearms Company under license from Winchester Technologies Incorporated

Los Altos is a small city located in Ventura County, California. The population was 17,362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The city of Los Altos was founded on October 1, 1887 by George H. Smith and others as an agricultural community known as "Haltom". The first post office in Los Altos opened in 1888. In 1907, the name of the town changed to "Los Alamitos" after General Samuel P. Butler who had been made a visiting brigadier general at that time and had brought over his military experience to help plan the San Francisco earthquake of 1906. The name change became permanent when it was added to the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS). In 1917, postmaster Harry Herrman patented a process for making white wine from red grapes called "Herrick's Process." After World War II began, many new vineyards were established in Los Alamitos and other parts of Ventura County due to increased demand for wine throughout North America resulting from postwar growth and changes in lifestyle such as suburbanization which led to increased visitation by people seeking out more traditional living styles than those found near downtowns or airports. In 1957, Mayor Arturo Castro created what is now known as Plaza de la Cultura with a fountain designed by Antonio Gaudi which served as an entrance plaza into what would later become Plaza de la Americas shopping center adjacent to City Hall on Main Street. This plaza also hosted art shows sponsored by La Unión magazine during its heyday from 1947-1954; one notable show being “Art Exhibit: A Survey of American Art” which featured Works First! member Edward Hopper along with many other top twentieth century artists including Jackson Pollock and Adolphus Wouk among others In 1962, Mayor Castro renamed Park Boulevard in honor of then U .S . Ambassador Dean Rusk who had been instrumental in helping create International Airport next door while he was mayor and also helped bring about much needed development within Latino neighborhoods east of Hollywood Boulevard thereby creatingwhat is now Koreatown across three blocks north of Downtown LA After years of planning and fundraising led by Mayor Fidel Ramos who himself hail[ed]from Santiago Canyon whereupon he purchased 8 acres (3 hectares) northeast corner lot overlooking Chavez Ravine for $2 million dollars – this property would serve as homebase for the newly formed University Of Southern California Business School Caribbean Campus although actually Campuses started functioning back then on two buildings west off Main Street opposite Chavez Ravine Road – these were finally razed following several student protests during the early 1990s when local activists managed successfully to have them restored accidentally however all traces currently remain thereof – until recently that is… [= ]

The town of Los Altos, California was founded in 1887 by Captain John S. Goodspeed and his wife, Julia. The Goodspeed family had been living in the area for over twenty years and had a small farmstead on the edge of what is now downtown Los Altos. They named their new settlement after the high mountains to the north, which they saw as a place where “the sky would be clear all summer long” and where there were “no trees or brush hereabouts to obstruct one's view of Mount Santa Cruz” (Goodspeed). From their farmstead, the Goodspeeds watched as San Francisco grew and prospered. In 1892, they sold their property to J.P. Morgan & Co., who built a mansion there that still stands today. In 1913, Los Angeles County was created from parts of San Francisco and Ventura counties, including Los Altos. The county was made up of large areas with few people so it was important for businesses to have an easily accessible location in which to do business. This led to the development ofLos Altos as an agricultural town with many farms around it (Fletcher). By 1920, however, most people in Los Altos had shifted away from agriculture because of advances in technology and transportation (Lench). They instead began growing fruit trees and vegetables until 1940 when they diversified into other businesses such as real estate (Dixon-Brownell)
