The first shooters in Los Alamitos, California were outfitting themselves with shooting glasses in the early 1800s. The now defunct Rifle and Pistol Club of Los Alamitos was instrumental in helping to popularize indoor target shooting in the city. In 1892, a rifle range was established within the city limits and soon thereafter, shooters began using rifles instead of pistols for their sport. In 1912, an underground ammunition magazine was established within the city limits and soon afterward, shooters started using this type of ammunition for their sport. shotgun enthusiasts also began using shotguns as their primary weapon during this time period because handguns were not yet available to them. In 1932, the NRA became active in Los Alamitos and soon thereafter, they started sponsoring outdoor target shootings at local parks on weekends. This helped to popularize indoor target shooting among new generations of shooters who could no longer attend public ranges where missiles were fired from cannons or machineguns. In 1984-1986, Shooter's Alley opened within downtown Los Alamitos and soon thereafter, it became one of the most popular indoor shooting ranges in Southern California due to its generosity towards new shooters as well as its experienced instructors who would guide them through every step of the process from start to finish. Today, Shooter's Alley is still home to some of Southern California's bestateurs when it comes to shotgunning and ArmaLite firearms are now being used more frequently than ever before thanks largely to its knowledgeable Instructors!

By 1930, almost every major country had adopted some form of muzzleloading ammunition safety equipment including smoking guns and hunting rifles with sights (known then as “dogguns”). As more people started using handguns for everyday purposes such as self-defense and target practice (which required accurate aim), shotgun ammo safety became important too. By 1934, most countries had enacted legislation requiring Pistol Permit holders (such as law enforcement officers) to purchase special shot proof eyeglasses before firing pistols indoors or outside during daylight hours without first completing a safety training regimen provided by their local police department or sheriff's office
