There is no doubt that the gun Lock industry has had a long and varied history in Long Beach, California. The history of the lock industry can be traced back to 1892 when arms dealer George H. Withers established a company to sell firearms called Withers & Company. In 1896, Withers began producing a type of keyless gunlock known as the “Withers Key”. In 1927, Firearms Corporation of America (FCA) was founded in Long Beach by Mayor John Condon and entrepreneur Harry Weintraub. FCA became one of the world’s most significant Arms Dealers with operations throughout North America including sales at both local and international exhibitions. The company was renamed Pratt & Whitney Firearms Corporation in 1954 after American aircraft manufacturer Samuel Pratt and his brother John Whitney bought controlling interest in FCA from their father Hiram Pratt. Samuel Pratt served as President until his death in 1978 while John Whitney Held the position until his death in 1986. It should also be noted that Samuel Pratt was also responsible for starting Westinghouse Electric Company which would later become CBS Corporation. During World War II, Long Beach became an important center for firearm production due to its location at the mouth of Harbor Bay on Los Angeles County’s southeast coast where munitions manufacturing took place along with other industries such as shipbuilding and electronic equipment manufacturing during wartime times. After the war ended, many businesses left town but several notable exceptions such as William Atherton who reopened Atherton Machine Workshops followed by Stevens Aircraft Work Co., Incorporated which manufactured Boeing planes before moving its plant to Long Beach post-war years; Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company located their telephone switchboard operations here; Lockheed Martin Missile Division developed new types of missiles for US military forces during this time period; Huntington Fire Control Laboratories tested fire control systems used on bombers during this time period Finally, Armstrong Whitworth Electric Power Plants operated here between 1946-1962 providing power to numerous industrial facilities including Grumman Aircraft Manufacturing plants (Grumman/Litton lost their contract after 1961), Kaiser Permanente Medical Center (later Caltech), Ford Motor Company's Willow Run Research Laboratory etcetera

On July 15th 1914 Carleton Watkins delivered water from Lake Oroville into Long Beach Harbor through Panama City beach . The first paved road in what is now Long Beach Township was constructed in 1917 by local contractor John Ritchie using money saved from selling assets seized from&&&&&&&&&&&Don Juan Diaz|||||||||||||||||||||||

With strong community support and Measure R passing November 2nd 1978 increasing funding for school construction by 3/4ths annually through 1981–1982; LBCA became one of only two cities in Orange County without limits placed on property values; elected officials developed plans for several new neighborhoods including North Park (now Downtown Long Beach), South Park (now Midtown Long Beach), Harbor Islands off Newport Bayou near downtown LAUSD boundaries as well as numerous smaller developments throughout eastern region which have since been annexed into LBCA or are currently under development there by their respective governing entities The port town was home to most large ships moored along Huntington Harbour until 1966 when all but three were relocated to Port Hueneme after a decision by then-Mayor Artvoice not to compete with larger Ports Oceanside or Sealand due to higher taxes paid per tonnage handled at those ports
