In 1849, an act was passed that changed allalong part of Ventura County from Spanish to American control under President James Kenedy’s Proclamation No. 1 “For The Honor Of Our Country And For The Benefit Of Our Native Sons And Daughters” (see history). After years of planning and fundraising by bothgoogleand Local Governments through Measure M (2006), the groundbreaking ceremony took place on October 24th 2007 with Mayor Donny O’Malley officiating A full redevelopment plan for what had once been an agricultural community has seen much progress over recent years; however many questions remain about exactly where this growth will take place given current infrastructure constraints around water hardness levels etc…Lomonitas Town Center is currently under construction with plans for it to become one of Americas leading light industrial districts
Lomita is located in the Angeles National Forest and was first settled by Native Americans in the area in the late 18th century. The area was part of Rancho San Pedro, which was granted to José Antonio Narváez y Saldaña in 1785. Lomita became a small town on May 15, 1907 when it incorporated as a city. On November 3, 1917, Lomita fire destroyed part of downtown with over $100,000 in damages and caused around $2 million in damage to businesses and homes. In 1951, Lomita became one of the first cities to be placed within the newly formed county of San Diego.
