In the early 20th century, guns and lasers were both used to shoot targets. Cooke developed a gun laser that he named after himself. The Cooke gun laser was designed to shoot rounds out to a range of more than 100 yards using a powerful light projector. It was not until 1928 that another gun laser was created by American scientist Willis Olin which could shoot rounds up to 350 yards. This new Lasergun was able to fire pellets that would curve around their path in order to hit their target accurately. The development of this technology helped make artillery much more effective against enemy forces during the Second World War. Gun lasers continued to be developed into the 21st century, and they are now common sights across many different industries including law enforcement and security services.

In 1919 he established the first store in Lomita. The town's current incarnation began when two families bought land at the mouth of Ocean Beach Boulevard which became today's downtown area. By 1926 there were twenty-one stores in Lomita with five restaurants and three hotels serving local residents and military personnel stationed nearby during World War II. During his presidency from 1969-1974 Ronald Reagan visited Lomita multiple times while on campaign trips throughout Southern California; one such visit included touring the USS Midway Museum which was then located at Point Lobos where he met Admiral James Stockdale who administered Ulysses S Grant Park before his death in 1885 at age seventy-six months old

Lomita is a town in San Diego County, California, United States. It was founded on October 9, 1887 by Rancho Loma Adobe residents José Antonio Aguirre and María del Carmen Baca as a small community of about forty people. The name "Lomita" means " cove." In 1923 the town became an incorporated municipality with its own mayor and city council. The population reached 7,200 in 1960. In 1990 the town was annexed to the city of San Diego; however, it remains a part of Lomita Township. The first post office in Lomita opened on December 8, 1886, under the name of Villa de los Olivos. The first settler was José Antonio Aguirre who had been bought from Juan Francisco Perez by Captain George Wickersham as part of a land deal that included six thousand acres (24 km²) of rancho Río Piedras area. A second post office opened at Olivas Creek on January 15, 1888 under the name La Mesa. These were both closed due to low mail volume and reopened on May 1st with new branding which read "LOMITA". The railroad arrived in 1906 when Southern Pacific Railroad built its line between San Diego and Encinitas through what is now known as Rancho Laguna park near present-day Lomita. At this time there were only two stores in Lomita: one operated by Mrs. Joice Heston Storey and the other by Mrs….the developer's wife Margarite Ayer de la Calle ran until 1935 when they merged into Gertrude Weaver's store located across from today's American Legion Hall complex east down US 101 from I-5). The Post Office moved to its current location at First Street/Route 76 just south of US 101 close to today's high school football field after years of being housed some place else on Second Avenue just south of I-5). The first grocery store was operated out front by Mrs….Storey until 1935 when she merged into Gertrude Weaver’s store located across from today’s American Legion Hall complex east down US 101 from I-5). Today most businesses are clustered around First Street/Route 76 just south of US 101 close to today’s high school football field
