Lodi, California is a city in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 31,057 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous city in San Bernardino County and one of the most populous cities in Southern California. Lodi was incorporated on November 7, 1868. Lodi is located on both banks of the San Joaquin River stretching from downtown to east of Interstate 10. The river forms part of the city's southern border and limits its north and east boundaries to a small area near downtown that lies to the south of I-10. The 10-mile (16 km) long (3-kilometer wide) Main Street runs through Lodi with several shopping malls serving as its major thoroughfares. Downtown has many large office buildings as well as several hotels including Marriott Marquis Carlton Hotel and Renaissance Riverside Hotel, which are adjacent to each other on Elmira Road across from City Hall Park. According to legendy dating back to 1886, Lodi may have been founded by two brothers named Levi Strauss who established a wagon transport company out of their father's farmstead near Redlands while he was traveling in central California during 1846–47; after his death they continued operations under their son Nicholas Strauss until 1896 when ownership passed through their daughter Anna Strauss Weingarten until her death in 1938. A plaque at Main Street Pioneer Square marks where Anna Strauss Weingarten first opened her store which functioned as an importer/exporter general store before becoming known as "the mother store". In 1906 Samuel Hutton made what is now known as Hutton's Restaurant his flagship restaurant following his purchase of the business from Anna Strauss Weingarten which had originally been called "Hutton's Place." To avoid confusion with neighboring Pasadena another name for Lodi was changed from Redlands Village into North Hollywood town limits due jurisdictional issues between Los Angeles County and Orange County over land grants given primarily in areas such as Riverside Canyon Ranch extending into both counties boundary oilfields - see: History Of North Hollywood In 1912 Jerald Crippen purchased power plants along Exeter Avenue making him owner/operatorof one third interest in Gener Electric Company After World War II various stores became linked together using Plaza followed by Wojciech Jaruzelski successively owning all but 2 acres within plaza eventually having naming rights sold outright changing name once again giving rise to current moniker "Lodia Mall".

Lodi, California is located in Northern California and was founded by the Lodi people in 1851. The town first grew up around a small military post that was established on the banks of the Sacramento River. The post served as a base for Indian scouts and was also used to store goods and to transport troops and supplies during the Mexican-American War. In 1856, Lodi became part of Rancho Santa Clara de las Pulgas, which belonged to Jose Felipe de la Cueva y Ortega. At this time, Lodi had a population of around 100 people. In 1871, Rancho San Pablo passed from José Felipe de la Cueva y Ortega to his brother José Narciso de la Cueva y Amador. At this time, Lodi had a population of about 500 people and prospered because it lay on the path of mail service between Stockton and Sacramento. In 1881, rancho San Pablo went bankrupt due to overspending on goods shipped from Mexico City. This caused some problems for Lodi because it diminished its access to trade with other parts of California. However, things began to improve for Lodi when James Irvine bought part of Rancho San Pablo in 1886. Irvine soon turned it into one of the most successful vineyards in America thanks to his innovative grape farming techniques. By 1912, Lodi's population had increased to 1,500 people thanks largely to new immigrants from Russia and Italy who arrived after World War I. However, despite these successes, economic conditions at rancho Santa Clara led Irvine to sell it back in 1922 for $2 million dollars ($50 million today). With little choice butto abandon its small town feel (though it did keep its name), many residents left for more prosperous towns such as Redding or Salinas during this period; however, few buildings remain from those times including Lodi's original post office building which still stands today (although currently used as apartments). Lodicians have continuously been active in their community since then - starting with local government officials like Harry Serna who served until 1985; continuing through street namesake organizations like Central Valley Historical Association; making contributions both locally and statewide; creating businesses; philanthropic giving; artistry – both traditionaland contemporary – all centered around music composition or performance within the community setting: From salsa dancing classes taught by nuns at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Monastery every Sunday morning (!), allthe way up through world-renowned Jazz Pianist/ Composer Toni Morrison coming visitin 2016!
