It consisted of a mixture of beeswax and petroleum jelly combined with vegetable oil or mineral oil in order to increase its penetrating power. Pistol Lube No. 1 quickly became popular because it increased accuracy and prevented lockup during firefights. In 1923, German chemist Walther Paulus developed the first effective handgun cleaning solvent, also known as Tarso Alcohol® or Parma Alcohol©/.Tarso Alcohol© helped reduce corrosion on handguns by breaking down aggressive etched chemicals on the surface of pistols while preserving metal parts inside the barrels such as breeches and triggers
Lodi is a small town in the Central Valley of California, located about 60 miles east of Fresno. The population was 15,865 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fresno-Madera, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lodi is first mentioned in 1695 as "Lodie". In 1851, J.D. Huffaker platted a village called "Lodi" on his rancho Niguel de la Luz y Hidalgo (now part of Lodi). The post office was established at Lodi in 1854 and remained open until 1957. The community grew rapidly due to its location, accessibility to water resources, and agricultural potential. By 1890, Lodi had three churches and over 120 businesses operating in what became known as "The Promised Land". During World War II, Lodi served as an ammunition dump for nearby Tulare County; however, it never saw combat because the war was fought away from California's borders. In 1958, when Californian county boundaries were redrawn following statehood, much of the rural area within modern-day Tulare County became part of Lodi while other portions were annexed by other counties including Orlandosburg and Madera. However, most residents still consider themselves to be natives or colonists of Los Angeles County who were forced out during that time period. In recent years there has been a movement to restore some cultural elements associated with early settlers such as commemorative plaque ceremonies and weekend genealogical research trips to original sites in order to help flesh out any connective tissue between present day residents and their ancestors back then

The population of Lodi grew to over 50,000 by the end of the 19th century and it developed into a major agricultural center due to its location on the Central Valley. In 1931, Lodi became an incorporated city with a mayor-council form of government. The city experienced significant growth during World War II as it became an important manufacturing center for munitions and other materials. However, the war led to large decreases in the city's population after the war ended and it declined thereafter. Today, Lodi is home to a small number of residents who are responsible for its economic development.
