In 1945, after years of redevelopment efforts, Livingston become again a thriving community with many new businesses popping up including restaurants and stores catering to tourists alike. However, by 2000 things were starting to unravel as industries quickly tapered off or faded away; unemployment rates soared; crime increased; and life felt out-of-sync with what had once seemed like a golden age for Livingston – until something amazing happened: its namesake withdrew from school district property within 5 years!
Livingston was founded in 1872 by James Livingston and his wife, Anna. The village became a town in 1907 and an incorporated city in 1959. In 1984, the city was renamed after Ada Louise Huxtable.
