Livingston, California is a town of about 30,000 people located in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It was founded in 1876 by farmers and ranch hands who set up a post on the edge of a basin that would later become known as Lake Tahoe. The town quickly grew into a thriving community, thanks to its location and access to natural resources. Gun swivels were first invented in Livingston in 1892 by George A. Livingston, California is a small town located in Kern County, California. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. It is home to the Livingston Airport and the nearby community of Aliso Viejo. The brothers named their land "Aliso Viejo" after their father's home town of Aliso Viejo, California. In 1861, John Sorenson founded the first store in what is now Livingston. In 1871, Wm. Ladd and his brother-in-law Jno. Nourse started making irrigation ditches for the Kern River valley and named their company "Nourse & Ladd." By 1886, there were twelve stores and two hotels in Livingston with a population of 1,500 people. In 1911, Roy Hagenstedt opened the first grocery store in what is now Livingston with twenty-one cases of food per week for his customers. One year later he established a post office here with four mailboxes and one station wagon on Main Street between Seventh Street and Ninth Street west of Highway 99W (now State Route 49). A year later he built a new building on Third Street north of Highway 99W which became known as the Post Office Building (now an apartment complex). The oil boom that began around 1960 led to increased business activity throughout all of Kern County as companies such as ChevronTexaco and Shell constructed drilling rigs nearby in Southern Kern County while residents prospected for oil under ground throughout much of central Kern County as well (the wells are still being drilled today)). However, business eventually declined due to competition from other businesses within Kern county including Walmart and Safeway chain stores opened up within driving distance of Livingston during this time period. However by 1973 when production peaked from several deepwater horizontal wells drilled by ChevronTexaco it had already declines due to overpumping caused by overproduction from other sources) so no commercial development took place until 1985 when Chevron sold its interest in its well site to BP for $2 million dollars (). After that point things startedto pick up again with some major retail developments taking place such as Home Depot opening up shop just east off I-5 adjacent to Interstate 5 Exit 241A about 10 miles south of downtown Livingston; however these endeavors failed to generate any real economic impact beyond neighboring towns such as Bakersfield or Redding due mostly to lowland prices for oil relative to coastal areas outside Los Angeles or San Francisco

Captain Livingston had purchased this land from James Fenton in 1846. In 1872, the community reached its peak when it incorporated as a city under the name of "Alhambra". However, due to economic problems and competition from other rural towns in central valley basin, Alhambra declined in popularity over the next few decades until it finally merged with Fresno in 2000. The People's Republic of China occupied parts of East Asia during World War II which caused some local businesses to close down or go out of business; however these closures did not have an impact on Livingston as most of their products were exported back home before war began. After the war ended there continued struggles between large businesses and small businesses until 1995 when larger businesses took over many smaller ones in what is known today as "the market correction." This led to more startup companies and more innovation which has helped Livingston stay afloat through times of recession and stagnation while also creating jobs opportunities for locals In addition to its agricultural products that are exported all over the world; Livingston is also home to one of southern California's most successful dairy farms - The Dairy Queen - that has been running since 1951 . As well as several other high-tech companies such as Intel Xeon Processor Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors which are being used by various government agencies across Southern California; electronic equipment company LSI Logic ; software company Symantec ; among others.; Livingston has remained an economically vibrant center with strong ties racial identity politics have played no role into its governance or development policies
Livingston is located in Kern County, California, United States. It was founded by Josef Márquez on January 17, 1849 as a small rancho called Rancho San Bernardino. The name of the town was changed to Livingston on February 14, 1854 when it became part of the newly formed Kern County.
