In 1892, Livingston was founded by Captain John Fenton and his wife Eliza. The town site was located in a area that is now the city of Monrovia. The first store in town was built on the corner of Third and San Pablo Streets. The first ammunition company in Livingston was Patriot Ammunition Company, which began operations in 1896. In 1907, the company became the American Ammunition Corporation. In 1912, American Ammunition Corporation merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company to form Winchester-Winchester Repeating Arms Incorporated (WRR). In 1944, WRR acquired Savage Arms Corporation, making it one of the world's largest firearms companies.
Livingston, California is a small town located in Kern County, California. The population was 7,595 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fresno-Madera-San Joaquin Valley Metropolitan Statistical Area. Livingston was named after General James H. Livingston who served as military governor of Californias Central Valley during the Mexican–American War and as Superintendent of Mines and Geology for the Department of Water Resources in 1881-1882. The first white person to reside in Livingston was John Sutter who founded Sutter's Fort in 1846 while traveling through what is now Kern County. He built his fort on land that he acquired from Juan Bautista Alvarado, one of Santa Anna's followers. In 1849, Captain George Wright established a post at present day Park Meadows on the east side of High Street which became known as Wright's Station after him. The first store in Livingston opened located on Main Street in 1850 by Wm Fenton & Sons under the name "Fenton’s store." A post office called "Livingston" was established at this location on September 3, 1850, and remained in operation until May 11, 1865 when it was renamed "Fresno". In 1862, General William Tecumseh Sherman marched his army through central California and passed through Livingston; upon his return to San Francisco he recommended that all gold be taken out of central California before leaving so that more could be mined near Sacramento City where it would not be discovered until much later! On July 10th 1870 an Act became effective providing for the organization of an elected township board with power to exact taxes from residents within its boundaries equivalent to two percent (2%) of their assessed value! This act allowed for development outside our current borders although we continue to enjoy some beautiful countryside within our boundaries today! On November 16th 1860 Daniel Boone arrived at Happy Valley from Missouri with 14 men including three physicians and five women intentioning to prospect for gold near Santiago Flatts but were turned back by Native American warriors led by Chief Joseph Hawk shortly before they reached their destination just south of present day Big League Springs Road about 12 miles southeast of present day Cloverdale. Upon reaching Happy Valley they found extensive deposits totaling over $4 million over 6 miles wide containing assayable goldbearing rocks averaging 1/8 pound per tonne! They named their new discovery “Boone” after themselves and set up camp nearby enjoying rapid growth due to both malaria prevention efforts being put into place as well as easy access to water which remains a major asset today! They continued operations until February 1863 when they relocated again due to increased hostilities between Ulysses S Grant's forces vs Confederate troops stationed along US Route 66 northwest of Fresno / Boonesville sector !! These activities resulted in many fatalities however rest assured there are no such hostilities taking place today... only productive mining activity :)

Livingston, California is a small town in the Central Valley of California. It was founded by American fur companies in 1848. The town was named for General James Livingston, who died in 1849 while leading an expedition to explore the San Joaquin Valley. The first post office opened in 1852. Livingston had a population of just over 100 people when it became part of the City of Fresno on January 1, 1907. On November 15, 1957, the city merged with nearby Lodi to form what is now Fresno County. The history of Livingston can be traced back to 1848 when American Fur Co.'s General James Livingston led an expedition into the central valley to survey the area for potential sites for future fur-trading posts. After reaching Sacramento River at Bear Lake on July 10,1849, he and his men continued their journey northward and reached Nacimiento on September 16th after a difficult journey through dense oak forests and chaparral. At Nacimiento, General Livingston's party erected a temporary fortification consisting of earthworks and stockades around a reconstructed mission chapel (now known as Missionary Baptist Church). A few weeks later he left Nacimiento with provisions and supplies for his upcoming exploration venture into Nevada Territory which lay east of contemporary Fresno County. General James Livingston's explorations into Nevada Territory were not successful; however this did not discourage him from continuing his research along the eastern border of California because he believed that new lands awaited him there as well. In December 1849 he arrived at Academy Creek near Stockton where he built himself a cabin using materials that he had acquired during his travels upriver from Sacramento Falls. From Academy Creek General Livingston explored northeastern San Joaquin Valley via horseback riding and water crossings until arriving at Redding on February 3rd 1850 having traveled 553 miles (824 kilometers). He then proceeded northeastward via wagon road until arrivings US-101 at Northridge on March 8th 1850 - thus becoming one of the first white men Crossingthe Bay Area/Northern Californian Border since Ranchos de la Bahia trade Route opened up in 1777! Majestic Yosemite National Park was first established within today’s boundaries about four miles south east of present day Redding in 1861 by Ulysses S Grant who also purchased land from Native Americans inside Yosemite National Park boundary – making it one half mile wide across most streams between Lakes Tahoe & Kings Canyon National Park boundaries today! This purchase made Yosemite possible due to $100 per acre donation given by Dr John Muir to Congress – opening it up for public access starting April 21st 1860! As much as we may want or need change today within our community or country – remember how far we have come lately thanks United States Governmental History!

The population of Livingston reached 997 in 1880, but the town declined to 687 during the 1920s and 1930s due to its location on the border of two counties.
