Gun sights have been a part of American life since the early 1800s. In California, where I live, they first began to be developed and used in handguns in the 1860s. The use of firearms became more important as the country transitioned from a agrarian society to an industrial one. Gun sights were needed for accurate shooting at distances too great for riflemen or shotguns to reach. As rifles and shotguns evolved, so did gun sights. By the early 1900s, guns had become so sophisticated that handgun shooters typically relied on telescopic sight devices called “dot-and-circle” sights or reflex sights that displayed target silhouettes on a black circle instead of lines drawn through the target with a white arrow. This type of sight was also sometimes known as an “inverted V” sight because it resembled an inverted V located over Shooter’s Eye (the front aperture) on most handguns. During World War II, many new types of ammunition were introduced that required new sighting devices designed specifically for this type of ammunition. One such device was the "green light" sight which consisted of two circles held together by a metal band: one showed darkness while the other illuminated your target in green when you hit it with your bullet. Other advances during World War II included designs for night vision optics which allowed shooters to fire weapons without seeing their targets; and laser pointers which could be pointed directly at objects to provide aiming assistance while firing pistols or rifles

Lincoln, California is a town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 10,463 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Joaquin Valley and lies on the eastern edge of the Mojave Desert. The name "Lincoln" comes from John Todd Lincoln's birthplace in Wellesley, Massachusetts (now part of Springfield), where his father had been born. Abraham Lincoln was born one year before that in 1809 in Hodgenville, Kentucky. Lincoln grew up on a small family farm near Dixon and attended schools in nearby Hanford until he was 12 years old. He then went to work on his family's farm as a boy laborer and began learning how to read and write at an early age. When he turned 20 years old, he moved to Chicago with his bride Mary Todd Lincoln (1847-1925) so she could get an education there also and start a new life. They first lived in a run-down cabin before moving into an boardinghouse for two years before they found their way back to Chicago where they bought a house on Wells Street. They started having children when they were just 23 and 27 years old respectively but all but one child died young; only son Abraham survived to adulthood and became president of the United States (1865-1920). In 1854 Lincoln married Lucy Stone Coolidge (1837-1923). She was five years younger than him but their marriage produced six children: James K., John F., Scott M., Margaret S., Edward M., and income motivated them enough not to buy another home until after World War II because they wanted all their kids healthily able to contribute something directly or help out financially during wartime production shortages or other times of economic hardship. The lincolns moved into their own home on Washington Boulevard north of downtown Chicago from 1909-1912 when James Roosevelt became President because Congress refused money for a new presidential mansion which would have been located south of downtown Chicago due east of the Great Lakes Naval Station - now Navy Pier - then across State Street from Lincolns' house which would have blocked views down Cook River towards Lake Michigan/US Grant Park that were now visible from both sides of Washington Blvd between Wacker Drive/Randolph Road/Wabash Avenue along today's Adams Street shopping district renamed Clinton Ave/Washington Boulevard southward past City Hall onto Michigan Avenue before turning west onto State Street inside today's Loop / Congress Parkway turnoff just east of today's Museum Campus off Ionia Rd beyond Kane Rd
