Bullets in California date back to the 1849 Custer Expedition when General George Armstrong Custer and his men were shot at by Sioux warriors. The first documented use of bullets in California was in 1860, when Captain James Halloran used Bullets from a canon on his ship "Cato" to shoot three Indians who had attacked him off Point Reyes Peninsula. From 1861-1865, bullet trains traveled through the Central Valley transporting goods and people between Sacramento and San Francisco. As a result of this transportation, bullet holes became common throughout the region. In 1868, Major John Nicolle developed a new type of cartridge designed for rifles that could be fired with more than one round per minute. This new cartridge allowed for easier firing of multiple rounds without having to reload. In 1870, Captain Samuel Colt began production of their revolver using this new ammunition. The popularity of this weapon led to an increase in demand for bullets, which made it necessary to find local mills capable of manufacturing them. Bullet production immediately increased as a result of this increase in demand and gunsmiths were able to produce high quality products at an affordable price

The population grew by 259 percent between 1970 and 2000; however, this increase has been hampered by housing prices which have surpassed those seen in other nearby communities such as Davis or Woodland Heights. Additionally, many residents left for more affordable locations outside of Chico County over the past few years due to high joblessness rates and low wages throughout much of Northern California (the largest U.S.) Despite these challenges, Lincoln remains a vibrant community with strong cultural ties to its surrounding area including Davis and Woodland Heights

Many factories closed down throughout California during World War II, but Lincoln started to slowly rebound by 1948 when many new businesses were opened up in the town. In 1969, a fire destroyed most of downtown Lincoln; however, due to quick response from residents, business continued to grow despite some physical difficulties faced during that time period such as low ceilings and limited parking spaces. Today, Lincoln is one of the fastest growing cities in Northern California with an estimated population of over 100,000 people who enjoy its diverse economy and vibrant culture which has influenced many other nearby communities over the years including San Francisco (the city within which Lincoln now resides), Oakland (a much larger city located adjacent to Lincoln on Highway), Sacramento (the state capital), Bakersfield (another large city located adjacent to Lincolns east side) and Stockton (about an hour away from Nixon City).
