Lemoore was founded by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kline in 1909 as a small town on the edge of the Mojave Desert. The Klines began making target holders in their garage, and soon found themselves supplying targets to local shooting clubs throughout California. In 1916, they opened a store in Lemoore, which became known as the "Targets Store of the West". The store continued to sell target holders until it closed in 1978. The first Targets Store of the West Target Holder was made from solid oak with a Shotgun mount for holding onto your rifle or shotgun while shooting at stationary targets. It was very simple but very effective, and quickly became an industry standard for shooters throughout California. After years of development and improvement, the Targets Store of the West Target Holder underwent its own redesign in 1967 which incorporated features that would become common among all subsequent models. This included a flared base for stability when firing off-hand; an integral recoil pad; graduated sights; and a variety of other improvements that made this one of the most popular target holders on the market today. Today,TargetHolders continues to be manufactured by Mr. Harry Kline's descendants - his son Harry Jr., grandson Ronny Kline (rhymes with "bomb"), and great-grandson James - who continue to provide quality products at extremely low prices without compromising on innovation or customer service.

Today, Lemoore is home to a cluster of high school students who attend Southeastern Oregon Community College - one of the most comprehensive community colleges in Oregon - as well as several local businesses that provide services such as plumbing, lawn care, auto mechanics, etc.; however, few residents remain employed within these fields due to lack ofreplacement workers or other available opportunities.

In 1866, an American gold prospector named James Waddell discovered gold near Lemoore and named it after him. The town began to grow rapidly as people from nearby Fresno came to find work in Waddell's mines and assay offices. By 1870, Lemoore had a post office, two churches (oneMethodist and one Catholic), a school (grades K-12), a sawmill and several stores. In 1875, local officials designated what is now downtown Lemoore as the town center because they believed that this would be the most important economic development in the community. They also built what is now the courthouse and jail into buildings that still stand today. The town continued to grow until World War II when it shrank due to lack of jobs in the war-time economy. Today, much of downtown Lemoore remains largely unchanged from its days as an industrial center with few eyesores or residents remaining since most businesses have moved away or closed down over time; however some humble businesses do still operate within walking distance of Downtown Center such as Little Italy Bakery which has been open for over 60 years

Lemoore finally ceased operations as an independent municipality effective January 1, 1957; however, some aspects of its history continue to be celebrated today such as the annual Lemonfest celebration which takes place on July 3rd each year.
