Lemon Grove is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 1,871 at the 2010 census. It lies on the banks of the San Joaquin River and is located about 26 miles (41 km) south of Bakersfield. The first gun magazine in Lemon Grove was opened by George Armstrong Custer in 1868. The local paper reported that "the rifleman of this place has always had his own magazine" and that "the citizens have been using them for several years past." In 1892, Wm. H. Haggin founded the Haggin Gun Works here in Lemon Grove to produce firearms and ammunition. Over time, other manufacturers followed Haggin's lead until all weapons manufacturing became consolidated under the Haggin name by 1915. In 1916, William Jansen organized a group of businessmen from various parts of Kern County to form the Citizens Concerned with Firearms Regulation (CCFR), which aimed to legalize handguns in California. CCFR met with resistance from some business interests who saw handgun regulation as an infringement on their Second Amendment rights; however, Jansen persevered and eventually succeeded in having handgun regulations passed through both chambers of the California legislature before being signed into law by Governor James Mpheline on October 3, 1916. This event marked one of the most dramatic changes to Californian firearms history as handguns were now legal without any additional registration or licensing requirements than those previously required for rifles and shotguns

Lemon Grove is an incorporated city in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 6,839 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The first gun magazine in Lemon Grove was the Agricultural and Mechanical Museum's "Gunsmith Shop" which opened in 1895. In 1899, a new gun magazine called "The Rifleman" started publication and lasted until 1903. Then in 1905, another new magazine called "The Westerner" started publication and lasted until 1909. In 1912, a new gun magazine called "The Gunfighter" started publication and lasted until 1916. In 1925, another new gun magazine called "Action News" started publication and lasted until 1928. In 1932, a new gun magazine called "Action Sports & Outdoors" started publication and last for two years before it folded due to financial troubles. Finally in 1936, a new gun magazine named "Lemon Grove Life" started publishing with three issues before being discontinued after one issue due to low circulation. Then starting in 1937 through 1941 there were only two weekly magazines published – "Lemon Grove News-Intercepts", which ran for six weeks per month and ended on November 5th each year; followed by the monthly journal "Life", which continued for eight months before ending on January 1st each year. These two journals are thought to be the first firearm magazines printed statewide in California. And they remain some of the most popular today because they offer tips on how to care for firearms as well as stories about local history.
Lemon Grove is a small town located in Kern County, California. The population was 3,854 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salinas-Oncala, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first person to settled in Lemon Grove was James Hargrave in 1876. He and his family built a cabin on a hill near the present day site of Lemon Grove Elementary School. They later moved to what is now the north side of town where they started a small grocery store. In 1904, they bought land adjacent to their current location and developed it into a farmers market that remains today. In 1928, Lemon Grove's first post office was established and operated for 36 years until it closed its doors in 1984. The last mail carrier served lemon groves stretching from Durango to Visalia before transferring operations to Placerville on November 1, 1984. Today, customers can pick up their mail at either of the two posts office locations or online from www.lgpostoffice.com . A number of businesses have been located in Lemon Grove over the years including KFC founder Colonel Robert McDowell'sranch (now known as Bob’s Tasting Kitchen), Heaven Hill Winery (now known as Stagg Wine), and ABC Video Productions which produced many popular shows such as "Sabrina" and "General Hospital". The primary industries that have continued to operate here include agriculture (mainly citrus production) with some light manufacturing also; however most residents are engaged in agricultural pursuits only

Lemon Grove is a small town in Inyo County, California, United States. The population was 1,859 at the 2010 census. Lemon Grove is part of the downtown area of Indio and is home to the Lemon Grove Museum and Park. The first people to live in what is now Lemon Grove were Native Americans. They named their settlement after a lemon tree that growed near them on theranch family rancho de los Angeles (now called Rancho Mirage). In 1849, John C. Frémont stopped at the junction of Bear Canyon Road and Indian Wells Road on his way from Yuma to points east, and passed through Lemon Grove while traveling down Bear Canyon Road. A post office was established at Lemon Grove in 1851, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1903. In 1907, citrus growers Jerald Peele and George Sperry built a new orchard on what is now State Route 66 south of town. The two men became known as "the father and son team" because they managed all aspects of the orchard - from planting to harvesting to selling fruit. The Orchard Museum was opened in 1957 by then-Mayor Harry Hahn with assistance from then-Governor Jerry Brown. Lemon Grove began to decline during World War II due to lack of war production depriving local businesses of revenue; however, it bounced back following the war when grapefruit production increased along with other crops thanks to irrigation projects completed by Caltrans during that time period. After many years of stagnation during which no major development occurred within town limits save for some minor updates/updates to infrastructure such as streetscape improvements funded by Measure M (2012), Mayor Hahn declared an emergency meeting on October 15th announcing new plans for revitalization centered around creating jobs within town limits through various marketing initiatives including job fairs held throughouttown several times each year; encouraging retail businesses located within walking distance or less than one mile away from any school or library; improving access roads leading into town; increasing funding opportunities available for various programs sponsored by city hall including beautification efforts funded by Measure M spearheaded by Mayor Hahn himself Following this emergency meeting, work commenced immediately upon announcement including expansion of existing sidewalks bordering Main Street so pedestrians can easily cross without having feet wetting their boots as they walk upCountry Club Drive towards downtown; installation of streetlights within core business areas adjacent to sidewalks which will provide illumination throughout evening hours while providing safety for both pedestrian crossing AND drivers turning onto main streets en route thereto; resurfacing/paving much needed sidewalks within central business district adjoining schools & libraries thereby reducing potential hazards resulting from Prior deteriorated surface conditions . . . these are but a few examples illustrating how City Hall has been involved directly or indirectly in every step since inception leading up today's rejuvenated community!
