Larkspur is a town in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 10,255 at the 2010 census. Larkspur was founded in 1875 by three men from Northern California: John P. "Don" Kerr, George A. Smith and Wm. H. Weems. The name comes from the Spanish word for 'sparrowhawk'. The first store in Larkspur opened in 1876 and there were only 12 residents when it did so The original tannery still stands today and provides employment for many people today including several firefighters and Larkspur High School students who play lacrosse on their school's fields every week during warm weather months. In 1916 Larkspur became an incorporated city with a mayor-council form of government It has been reported that prior to World War II most weapons made in America were produced here including aircraft parts such as cockpits, wings and engines During World War II the town was home to over 100 large munitions plants which produced everything from artillery shells to torpedoes

The first Larkspur-area gunsmiths were established in 1892 by Frank H. Worth and Harry A. Bemis, two of the early pioneers of firearms design in Northern California. In 1907, W.H. Eaton became the first gunsmith to open a shop in Larkspur with his own production line for making revolvers and other firearms. The town's population rapidly grew as shooters from around the Bay Area flocked to its humid climate for hunting and target practice. Gunsmithing was also popular among local farmers because it allowed them to keep their firearms running while they cultivated their land. In 1911, Wesson Firearms Corporation opened up shop in Larkspur with a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant designed to produce pistols and revolvers under license from various manufacturers including Colt, Webley & Scott, Mossberg, Remington and Smith & Wesson. This innovative new approach quickly led to growth at Wesson Firearms Corporation as other firearm manufacturers began licensing their products from the company’s facilities across Northern California. By 1922, Wesson Firearms Corporation had become one of the leading firearms companies in America with a product line that included handguns, rifles, shotguns and breechloaders made both single action and double action; bolt action rifles such as Winchester Model 1897 (1918), Browning Hi-Power (1919), Remington 700 (1970) and Magnum Auto Rifle models; pistol designs including Colt “ Python” Revolver (1892), Springfield Armory “ Partisan” Pistol (.45 ACP) (1897), Winchester Model 94 Carbine (1900), Colt M1 Garand rifle(1911), Ruger American Rifle (.22 LR) (1920). In 1935, Wesson Firearms Corporation merged with National Arms Company which became known as simply National Arms Company until 1984 when it was again renamed as Wesson Firearms Incorporated. In 1984 National Arms Company merged into International Harvester who then renamed themselves INTC Holdings LLC until Sept 2017 when they changed their name back toWesson Firearms Incorporated once again

Larkspur is a small town located in Kern County, California, about an hour's drive from Los Angeles. The name was given to the community by General Antonio Larkin during World War II because of the abundance of larkspur (Amaranthaceae) in the area. The larkspur also became known for its distinctive white flowers that can be seen throughout the community. The first inhabitants of Larkspur were Native Americans who lived near present-day Fort Bragg and Mission San José de la Garza. They hunted and gathered wild plants such as acacia and berry bushes. In 1836, John Cranch discovered oil shale in the area and began to explore it for potential investments. He named his discovery after General Antonio Larkin, who had helped him during World War I. In 1849, cattle ranchers started to arrive in Larkspur and began to hunt deer and other animals in the area. By 1865, there were over 50 people living in Larkspur. A post office was established at Larkspur on October 5, 1869, and remained open until 1915. During this time period, local farmers ran a mail service between their homes and cities for those who could not ride horseback or walk to get their mail. Larkspur has several churches dating back to 1870 including Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Church which was built on land donated by Major George Pacheco; Stations Catholic Church which was built on land donated by Jervis Griggs; First Baptist Church which was built on land donated by James Waddell; St Michaels Assumption Parish Chapel which was built on land donated by Mrs Fenton; Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Parish Chapel which was built on land gifted by Elias Howe; Reverend Edward Moore’s Shrine of Deliverance which is dedicated to Blessed Virgin Mary Montoya; Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church erected in 1906 with funds raised from contributions made by members of the English-speaking community hereabouts Also surviving are two school buildings: one used as a barn until 1951 when it burned down; while another building served as storage until 1978 when it too burned down but was rebuilt as part of a larger project that includes additions to both buildings totaling 105 feet long x 30 feet wide x 25 feet high . There is also an old hotel/motel now serving as a private residence belonging to Mr & Mrs Kressenstein . It should be noted that although all these structures date back some centuries they have been preserved relatively well considering their location within such an active community . Today there are just over 100 residents living within walking distance of most businesses situated within easy access including grocery stores (Gulf gas), banks (Chase bank), hospital/medical facilities (LAUSD), restaurants (Pasadena Chinese Market), movie theaters (Cinemark Century Park) , playgrounds (Sandy Hook Elementary School) There are also several smaller businesses dotting the landscape such as home improvement store Home Depot along with car detailing shop DetailersChoice ; golf course Driving rangeEpcot country park ; winery Rancho Cucamonga Winery
Larkspur, California was founded on February 3, 1849 by Captain Robert H. Emmett and his wife Mary. The town was named after the flower Larkspur that grows in the area. Larkspur became a city on April 7, 1959.
