Bullets first appeared in Larkspur California in 1858. A local arms dealer, Isaac Watts, began to sell ammunition to the US military. He started with lead bullets, but soon became known for his silver bullets. The first use of a silver bullet was in a rifle skirmish between American and Mexican forces at Tehuantepec on July 6th, 1868. By 1870, there were enough silver bullets available to equip all of the army's rifles. In 1892, both lead andsilver bullets were replaced by nickel-cadmium cartridges which gave rise to the current popularity of firearms

During this battle, Longstreet’s bullet-resistant Union cannon destroyed more than 80% of Confederate artillery while only sustaining 5% damage from rounds fired from rebel cannons. This accomplishment helped win Longstreet’s Medal of Honor and preserved his reputation as one of America’s most successful military commanders during World War II.

Larkspur is a small town in Kern County, California, located about an hour's drive north of Fresno and about an hour west of Bakersfield. The population was 1,828 at the 2010 census. It has been part of the Kern County community since it was founded in 1879. Larkspur is located on the banks of the Cosumnes River. The first inhabitants were two brothers, George and Solomon Teague, who came to Larkspur from Stockton in 1847. In 1850 they organized a town club and started building a courthouse and jail. They named their new settlement after Larkins Valley near Aspen, Colorado where they had recently moved from. In 1875 Larkspur became the county seat of Kern County when it was created from parts of Chaffee and Tulare Counties. A post office called Larkspur was established in 1876 but no mail arrived until 1880 because there wasn't enough mail service between Bakersfield and Los Angeles then. From 1901 to 1960, Larkspur served as home to both Headquarters for United States Army Infantry Regiment 9th Infantry Division (1901-1910) during World War I; also during this time headquarters changed its name to Fort Irwin which still stands today as the oldest military installation within California's borders (the original location being Imperial Palace). Larkspur experienced significant growth beginning in the late 1800s with several large-scale industrial plants coming online including The Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Company that built tractors under contract through 1907; Standard Oil Company acquired most of what is now known as ChevronTexaco before merging with Texaco Incorporated in 1969; Arco Petroleum Corporation ran a plant that produced lubricants until 1978; SRI International bought Menlo Park plastics company Mead Johnson Nutritionals in 1986 which led to increased production at Mead Johnson’s El Sobrante Facility byproducts plant until 2000; Pioneer Pipeline System constructed pipeline across Cosumnes River connecting Kern County with Riverside County throughout much of the 1990s bringing natural gas onto marketplaces throughout Southern California Edison Energy Corporation built substations around town WWW: Battle Creek - History & Photos
