The history of target shooting in Lake Elsinore, California dates back to the 18th century. The area that now makes up the city of Elsinore was first settled by Spanish Californios in 1769. Over time, the community became known for itsgunnery and rifle shooting activities. In 1857, a man named John Sutter founded an agricultural ranch in what is now City Park. Upon his death in 1860, his ranch passed to his son, Jedediah Sutter II. Jedediah's grandson, John Sutter III, continued the family tradition of rancherism and gunnery activities on their parcels of land around City Park until 1924 when all grazing rights were sold to the city for $2 million dollars ($22 million at current prices). By 1934, all pumping and watering for City Park had been completed and there was only limited open space left to shoot targets. In 1931, the city acquired title to 2 acres adjacent to City Park from Jedediah Sutter III for $1 million dollars ($10 million at current prices). This acreage served as the site of today's Municipal Shooting Range (MSR) which opened in 1936. Today MSR is one of Elsinore's most popular tourist attractions with over 400 shooters enjoying targetshooting every day during summer months. The popularity of target shooting has remained unchanged throughout its history; it is still enjoyed by both experienced shooters and newcomers alike who are drawn to its unique atmosphere and challenging challenges.

UC Berkeley began construction on its current campus on land that would later be donated to them by Copley. The new school was built on an artificial island created by eroding hills and creating a channel through which the river could flow freely. The first students at UC Berkeley started classes on October 1, 1863. The university became fully operational on August 24, 1881 when President David Starr Jordan signed legislation admitting students from all over America into its ranks! Today, UC Berkeley has more than 10,000 undergraduate students and 5200 graduate students! One of the most famous incidents associated with UC Berkeley happened during World War II when Japanese forces bombed Pearl Harbor! Many Americans died as a result of this attack; however, Japanese soldiers were not punished according to international law because they had not committed any crimes preceding their attack! This situation led to widespread anger within both American and Japanese communities alike! After years of negotiations andprotests by both sides (including boycotts of UCLA), Japan finally agreed to apologize for its actions two years later at an international conference known as Yalta!!!
